This is football, not a Supreme Court appointment.
Just win baby!! AND save all the drama for yo mama.
On a more serious note, I think anyone, including a football coach, can stay in one place too long. And after ten years at AR, I think it had reached that point for both Nutt and the fanbase, regardless of the reasons. Sometimes, change can be good for all concerned. It keeps things fresh and prevents complacency.
Holtz won at AR, but eventually the fans got restless and belligerent. Ditto with respect to Hatfield, who also won at AR, but apparently without enough pizzazz. Danny Ford did not last too long either. Nutt has lasted longer than any other Hog coach other than Broyles.
Nutt, had he stayed at AR, would likely have over-stayed his welcome, and could have found himself in the unemployment line at the end of next year without all of these good job openings available. It was time for him to make a move. And it worked out good for Ole Miss, IMO. And for AR. Nutt and Ole Miss get a fresh start together. And AR will get a fresh start with a new head coach hand-picked by the new AR power brokers and the Springdale suburbia mafia.

no Holtz did what Nutt did, he let top in state recruits go and alienated hs coaching staffs.
Think Kieth Jackson for Holtz, think D'angelo Williams, think Cedrick Houston. It helps even less when SEC schools get them like Burns and Ziemba at AU
Nutt's Murray St. mafia
C. vaughn- worthless DBack coach, very good recruiter.
Markuson- outstanding, outstanding Oline coach
Allen-servicable d coach
other's
Tracy Rocker. great dline coach, him and Markuson I'll miss.
Shibest- worthless ST coach, was a HC juco head coach and won NC, he was to light up the juco trails in recruiting, he's flopped. Had glory under Hatfield with Groovey slinging it to him.
Herring, hasn't quite lived up to the hype but a good DC. Comic relief
Alex Wood WR coach-odd man out
Decker- strength coach. I'm indifferent.
And it really didn't help Holtz to get on the Tonite Show with Jonny carson and say this about Fayetteville, "It's not the end of the world but you can see it from there" Broyles also expressly told him to stay out of politics as head coach and he went and did tv spots for Jesse Helms in NC against his wishes.
