i know this would never happen but since so many of us... me included... complain about oos... but if you could would you create a law that says no hunter can venture outside of his state to hunt waterfowl or would you leave it like it is... keep in mind, however, you cannot travel to arkansas or nodak for example.....

wut ya say?

I think what people are most aggrivated about is the OOS people hunting WMA's. There is no doubt out of state folks with private lands are putting tons of money into the state that wouldn't exist without them. The state sure isn't making any money off the $35 in state sportsmans license.

I wouldn't go that far, but much much higher license and wma costs should be in order...

Maybe WMA cost increase but the license increase would punish people that are from out of state and own land in Miss.

I could go with this. Think about it. It's like the restaurant tax we've all seen. Charge people who stay in hotels and eat at restaurants more in tax because they cater to 'out-of-towners' so to speak. Then charge less taxes on goods and services used by 'locals only'. (That's the plan anyway)

As far as I can tell, everyone on the board is an OOSer. Whether it's duck, deer, elk, moose, goose, fishing, or whatever. We all travel to different states to do different activities. I can't go ice fishing in Lake Pontchatrain and people in Minnesota can't catch tuna, reds or specks. If I want to experience shooting sea ducks I have to go to a different state. It doesn't make any sense to charge exobornant fees to OOSers that want to experience what diferent States have to offer.

i feel your pain as we face some of those same issues in FL with OOS saltwater fishing.

for the record, we don't do the public lands / WMA thing

we spent a tidy sum of cash to obtain a hunting lease and we dump alot of money into the Cleveland economy everytime we show up.

thanks for the welcome as everyone we have met so far has been extremely cordial.

let's hope the ducks arrive soon so we can all bust their a$$es.

OOS gets 10 days to hunt in South Dakota..gotta luv it!!..and Waterfowl license is issued by lottery (even better)..maybe Mississippi should implement something similar.

Licenses are $300 for a sportsman’s which doesn't include primitive weapon. If you don't mind me asking how high you want to make um? Also don't think your great state of MS is the only one that gets raped by OOS'ers. Come to TN when the fishing is hot, or when the ducks are down, and it’s the same story different boat ramp.
