They came to the launch without ducks, but the wardens sent them back out to get them, I guess they were convinced it would be better for them in the long run. Some of the illegal person’s also like to frequent this site. What kind of people would think they could get away with hunting on federal land during a closed season? At least they won't be hunting the line this year.
Yours truly, the prince of Matthews Break
I do believe if they actually thought they were legal they would have
brought at least a limit of ducks out with them. Had to be at least 9 guys in there to be legal with 44 ducks. I wonder how many over the limit ducks they had.
And no, I didn't read all 6 pages if that info has already been posted.
OK, I just read everything. In my opinion, they should lose ALL hunting priveledges PERIOD! The seasons change EVERY YEAR, you should know what the hell you are doing PERIOD! No excuse for breaking the law like that. SHooting over the limit by a duck or two, yea I've done it by mistake and if I had gotten cought I would have taken the ticket and paid it as an honest mistake. But for 8 people 44 ducks on a closed day at a busy busy refuge like that and being the ONLY ones there. That's NOT a mistake, that is a blatent disrespect for the law!!!!! No mistake was made!!!! Maybe one or two guys in the bunch didn't know, but that is there stupidity for not knowing the seasons. LIke I said, there is NO EXCUSE PERIOD!!!!

Come on man!! They found out while shooting ducks the season was closed with a phone call. They sent one guy out to scout to see if anyone was at the ramp and low and behold there sits the Federally. He tried to lie and was talked into going back for ducks and buddies. They were all together in one way or another.

Got Chocolate just called me and said all ya'll Brake hunters don't know $#!+. The damned name aint got but one t in it. Tickles me pink. So in effect it would be Mathews Brake, not Matthews Brake, Softcall. Little bit of trivia, anyone know what it was called before it was Mathews Brake.

"Feds closed it down. Pas Taylor is the man you need to talk to. He'll lease ya some land for cheap. He owns a part of the break and for a fee will let you hunt it. Hell of a guy to deal with."
Regardless, everyone of the points in my post is valid.

Hello, my name is skeeter, and I was once a retard duck hunter too....
5 years ago, the season broke dec 24-26, myself and two others spent xmas eve on a nice mahannah duck hunt.....
somehow, we, for once, didnt have anyone close to us.....thank god we saw the game warden before we could actually get our aim on......we really did not know, or forgot about the season break....
tickets for 3 that morning....
THANK GOD that I have an uncle who is a 27 year vet for the green jeans, or that would have been a nice fine....
however, if those guys actually knew they were out of season, they screw em.....say hello to Mike Vick....
but moral of my story is, it does happen when you have those sneaky break in the seasons.....

Damn it, you got me there. Stupid mistake. Just thought it was interesting how every post in this thread had it with two t's. Damn DU must have come in and made em change it to 1 t since they got so much pull. They even convinced em to put corn out on the property lines. Damn DU.
