Bands For Sale!!!!!!!!!????????
I was looking through the classifieds on MS DUCKS the othter day and came across an add wanting to sell some Avise and Jack Minor bands. Now I have been hunting ducks religiously for 28 year and have 23 bands to show for it. Question.....Why would someone want to sale their bands????? If you had bands to sell, what would they accually be worth? Really.....think about it.....the time, money, and memories, what are your bands worth to you and would you part with them???? If so, at what price??? I had rather part with my Benelli and two Belgium A-5s than one of my bands but that is me. Would you part with your bands, if so, at what price??? I don't get it , somebody help me out!

got 8 duck bands and 2 goose, i hope to hand them down to little scooter,
aint enough money to get them, if you added up the trips and days it took to get-em, they would cost about $10,000.00 each, been hunting ducks for 25 years. there to hard to come buy, even got all the paper work with each one, there pricless

Kids are like coots, they come in droves for me..........
Yep and you'll notice that there haven't been any bites on them either. At face value, it's just a damn piece of metal. It's the personal experience of getting the band that adds the sentimental value and it is priceless. To buy those bands and claim them as your own would be wrong and I think that everyone on this site probably thinks that.

Don,
I personally think that your bands probably are worth about 2 cents. However mine, when I finally get one will be worth more than you or any body on this boards could possible say, Hey I think we kinda agree.
I have been at it for 12 yrs know and yet to get one. Maybe next year???

I cannot understand why anyone would want to sell their bands. As mentioned is it a door to a memory of a great hunt.
I have been hunting ducks for almost 17 years, 13 of those seriously. I have got 2 federal bands, 1 neck band, and what we call here in SC, tamie bands(SCWA mallards)3. I would never sell any of them, well except tamie worlds bands, which I have no clue where they are at anyways.

Now I have no bands or anything else advertised for sale on the classifieds here, but . . .
I do sell bands on eBay. Why people buy 'em is a mystery to me, but as long as they pay, what do I care?
I'm not selling bands that I have shot. I am selling bands I picked up at an estate sale. I also buy bands from time to time if the price is right and then resell 'em at a higher price. Just a poor man's stock market if you will.
I'll keep the bands off the ducks I shot just for the memories.

Look, with the stroke of key and some money, anyone can look like Fred Zink.

The way I've always looked at it is like this. Unless I am personally 100% sure that I killed the banded bird, I don't even want to flip for it, or anything like that. I am convinced that I will never get another one if I do something like cheating my way into getting one.
Buying a band would be the ultimate cheat, as far as I'm conserned.

Who's Fred Zink, and why would you want to look like him?
Another thought.Think about the unscrupulous guide wanna be.He buys a bunch of bands, and all of a sudden he looks like Dr.Duck to his prospective clients.
