What a great story. I have no doubt that the tradition will live-on, wherever friends of Mr. Bill gather.

'Funniest thing........"'so that all the damned gadwalls in the Flyway could carry a little piece of him back to Canada,' ".....I don't know of a duck hunter anywhere, that doesn't share a similar disdain for those contrary birds.

Thanks for sharing the article, Tom. I (for one) look forward to more stroies about the man.

A great story about someone who I wish I had known! Might not have killed a bunch of ducks every hunt, but I bet no one was ever bored on a hunt with Mr. Ramsey!

I had a weird thought that I want my ashes loaded into a box of shotgun shells where my son and friends can load me up on the first day of the season and fire me off over one of my favorite duck holes. That way, I could still make some noise and get wet every season for a while longer.

Crow,

Funny you should mention that. This is exactly what we are doing with a portion of dad's ashes.
I am having two boxes of shells loaded and we, the camp members, will draw high card for th ehonor each opening day to shoot one of the shells.

Very cool, MB. Duck hunters are an odd lot, aren't we? But, then again, it ain't real normal to spend so much time standing waist deep in ice water, either! I know you have all the good memories that I have of hunts with my Dad.
