I saw where you called one up for a friend on the Derr Plantation. My family land borders the Derr Plantation on its north boundary near the big 3rd slough. Are you talking about the Derr plantation near Onward. I was wondering who owns the place now, and did you see or hear many birds. I never even hunted down there this year because the turkey hunting has really been down the past few years. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Steele. Are you a Holliwell? Mr. Derr still owns the place, although it was up for sale back in the winter. I think he has decided to keep it.

To answer your question, NO, we did'nt hear many birds! We did, however kill one of the ones we did hear. Good bird. Killed him down on S. bayou. Ya'll are right in the middle of Gods country,in my opinion.

What I like to call D.D.T. country.....Deer, Duck, & Turkey!

We also hunted down on a place inside the levee, Scott Chick calls the section. Cant remember the name of the club tho.
