Bridge at Strider Academy was iced over at 11:00, but nothing on the roads. A little north of there but not by much. National weather service says a block of precipitaion had formed over East Texas and West Louisiana that would be moving onto the area by late afternoon and early evening. Icing above ground would be probable with this precipitation.

Tupelo is fine. Spitting a little sleet and snow.

Precipitation is still moving eastward from South and Central Arkansas and won't be out of the area until early evening. Predicted high of sunny and 38(?) - ain't going to break 32 today without the sun. From what I can tell, water less than 12" is locked up and won't thaw until tomorrow afternoon. If traveling tonight, beware of the "black ice" on roads and especially bridges.

Heard of a few cars tangling up on the Hwy 8 bridge west of Ruleville earlier today and another fender bender at he hushpuckena bridge between shelby and duncan. So be carefull on the bridges and overpasses.

Went out for lunch and it wasn't bad. Be careful around bridges and stuff because I did see a little slush not much but there was some accumulation in the middle and on the sides. I don't think it will be bad just be careful.

Its fine now. The roads are wet and most of the stuff falling is rain. Just came from Sardis to Cleveland. Now my truck looks like a popcicle but the roads are ok as of now.

This evening though when the temp begins to fall is when it will prolly get slippery as heck. Be Careful

Tombstone I believe I would change the plans to tomorrow night if possible. Better safe than sorry

The best places for ice accretions up to 1/4 inch are the Senatobia, Grenada, Cleveland, and northwestern Greenville. It is possible that a few isolated locations in these could see just over 1/4 inch radial ice accretion.

Not worrying too much about the roads right now....but power lines, that is another story. Already see an icecicle hanging here and there.
