I dont know what that word means, but it sounds like one of those things, if I said it, my momma would wash my mouth out with soap. 8)

Just made the trip from Sardis to here, via Greenwood and Indianola, and encountered no icing on the roads.

Roads between Tupelo and Batesville are okay. Now, the bridges, well that's another story. Saw many cars/trucks off in the ditches.

has anyone been down interstate 55 between memphis and grenada area. Heading that way in the morning, but dont want to end up in a ditch over some ducks. I called MDOT and they said the bridges were slick but that they were working on them.
Everything is illegal now, except for the stuff that's mandatory.

I just came down highway 7 to 55 from Oxford/Water Valley to Grenada then to Greenwood and the roads were fine. MDOT has been doing a good job keeping all the bridges good. Be safe if traveling in the morning.

I left G'wood at 5:00 this afternoon, heading to Starkville. I didn't have much trouble until the su went down. From Winona to Starkville, every bridge became more trecherous. There were several cars and trucks that were very cautious and ended-up in a ditch or into the guardrail. I had to do 25 miles an hour on bridges as the DOT had not gotten around to putting sand out. At 25 mph, the FWD car slid a bit.

You just take it slow and realize every bridge can be a problem. Some folks don't get it - had a guy pass me on a bridge - he was doing around 70. Those are the idiots that can hurt ya.

'Hope your loved-one made it home, safely. I was glad to get off the road.

If anyone is travelling tonight - word to the wise - watch the bridges and slow down at each one, keeping a constant speed with no sudden moves of the wheel. Mahybe they have sand on the bridges by now.

It was crazy this morning between Southaven and Batesville on I-55. At Sardis, there was a truck on its roof. Almost every bridge had claimed a vehicle.

Was headed to Crowder, and the bridge over the Tally River almost claimed me. Went completely around, which was a real thrill ride considering I had a trailer attached. Thankfully I was only doing 35 or so...
