They are dropping out like wood ducks, 20 minutes after sunset on the last day of the season!

Weather is supposed to be nasty. Forecast for 1-2 inches on Friday and 60-80 percent chance of rain/ t-storms on Saturday. I wouldn't drive a real long way if I were y'all with the weather like they say it's gonna be.

I'm gonna start working on the duck boxes on Thursday. Those of you who still want to come on Saturday, we'll check the weather close on Friday afternoon and make our plans then.

Now the weather is saying a 20% chance for slight rain on Saturday. We'll just wait and see.

We'll probably go to town and get something to eat.

Post hole diggers and tin snips.

We bombed out on the PTO digger and the portable, motorized digger has fallen victim to the five-finger discount.

I think I have 2 or three post hole diggers around here and plenty of tin snips. I've got a gas operated drill with a auger bit that we use to plant 1 gallon bushes that I can bring. It doesn't do a great job if the ground is hard :( and the handle might need some more duct tape but I can bring it if you think it will make things go faster.

I've got a drill and couple of batteries, T-post driver, and an assortment of other tools. I'll bring what few tools I got and we can use anything that will be helpful.

I put up 10 duck boxes today and the ground is soft. The work will go quickly with several people.

We have 10 more duck boxes already on the poles, on site, waiting for a hole to be dug, and about 10 more that need some work before mounting; a few of them will probably have to wait.

We need to put flashing below the bluebird boxes on wooden poles (tin snip crew and hammer crew) and cone guards below the BB boxes on metal posts. I have 4 BB boxes already mounted on poles and we can take off the boxes, drop the guard over the pole and reinstall the boxes. There are about 6 other bb houses not yet mounted to poles.

We'll have to work on the warbler boxes at my shop before we go put them up. Drilling holes and fitting the cone guards is the main thing. We'll do all of that at the shop where we have 'tricity. We have about 20 to rig up. I put 10 on duck box poles and they're already out there.

Somebody bring a small chainsaw. The one I picked up today died before I could ever use it. We'll need a saw for clearing some small saplings and overhanging limbs from around the boxes.

What's the best way to go from Starkville?

I was looking at the map and it looks like a good route would be taking
Hwy 82 to Greenwood, then taking 49 South to Hwy 512, and jumping over through Morgan City to Hwy 7 then South to Belzoni.

I'll bring my limb saw that'll take down limbs the size of your arm or smaller along with a drill, snips, and hammer.

This may have already been mentioned, but where are we putting the bird houses up? Sky lake?

If the weather radar shows rain imminent, I'm probably going to skip out on this.

Hwy 512 must be new. I don't see it on my map. I can't verify it, I was thinking you should take 82 West through Greenwood to Itta Bena. Then take 7 South through M. City to Belzoni.

Wildfowler I believe we'll be around the Sky Lake area.

512 cuts across from 49E to Hwy 7 from Rising Sun to Quito it looks to be a little backroad shortcut, but I do see the route to Itta Bena and then south to Belzoni that you were talking about.
