Some danged good advice posted so far. It will all boil down to YOUR assets and, eventually, her pure vindictiveness. To divorce attorneys, your children are nothing more than emotional and monetary leverage. A brother went through it and it was scortched earth from a woman I'd known as close family for 16 years. Bankruptcy and children's counseling came later. Take care of your kids and business. Save the morality of it all for later.

Been there done that. WHy are divorces so expensive???? Cause they are worth it!!!!!!! Mine wanted retirement, house, cash, boat, cars, etc. Even tried the dog!!!!!!!! She beleived me when I said she might not make it out with the dog.

You don't want out but for some reason unbenown to us she does. I would assume if you are a good guy and she just comes outa the blue wanting a divorce that she has SOMEONE else.

In my case I worried so much about attorney fees etc and fighting over little things that the only ones that won were the lawyers. It cost me more in attorney fees than if I would have just given a cash settlement. I learned a lot about divorce and I mean a lot. Don't let things leave the house like furniture etc or you WON'T get it back. The 60 day wait will feel like 1000. Try not to worry so much and see a doc if need be. I got bad GI problems due to lack of sleep and STRESS etc. It will get better but wait her out if she wants out sooo baddd. You don't have to sighn if she has no grounds but if she agrrees to your wishes she got some1 else. Sorry it sux.

well i didnt feel right with gil baker so i went with
paul rogers. My JAG officer recommended him. I wish they would change the law so us military guys could use the JAG for personnel use. My only question right now is my lawyer says i want get custody i dont have enough bad things about her. Any one have any luck gettting ther kids when the mom is fit.

I got my son when I got divorce back in 98, but I did not win my son , she lost him - she did it to her self - but I did keep a book of every thing that happened during that time - so when the judge had a question about what happened on a cretin date, all I had to do was look it up in the book. Also, it took two years in court and about $35,000 in attorney fees – good luck - hope you don't have to go through that.

Good luck with this ordeal! Keep on asking questions because I'm sure one of the people on this board has dealt with a particular situation before and can help you out. From the kids end here just keep the little ones priority one. Plenty of good people on this board to help you out.
