Costa Question....

Postby J.G.B. » Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:02 pm

Alright guys, I need some help here.

Here's the deal....strangely I have contracted an allergy and now am allergic to the rubber earpieces on my Fathom sunglasses. This stuff itches worse than poison ivy!!!

I have contacted Costa's customer service to see if they could help me.

Here is what they said.

"You will need to send in your glasses for an exchange. We can offer you a different style of your choosing for repair pricing of the frame and lenses."

I have filled out the online info for return and have selected the triple tails as my replacement pair.

Here is my question: how much is the repair pricing of the frame and lenses? Would I be better off just buying them outright and selling my fathoms?? I know it cost $9.95 or something like that for them to look or whatever they do. Just curious. I know several of you guys have dealt with Costa Del Mar in the past and hope you can help me.

I broke the lenses in my tripletails, and it cost me (I think) $65.00, but they didn't repair. They jsut sent me a new pair. I would pay the repair and send them back.

Hope this helps.

Take the deal!!!
it will be about 1/2 price.

My triple tails were $140 so take the deal they give you.

that rubber stuff on the ear pieces will eventually crumble off anyway...you can peel it off and add a pair of the slide on rubber keepers and they'll still ride...
He's comin' back around...

No matter, it is a better price than you are going to find on them anywhere.

Ahh. I will tell you the only problem i have had with my Tripletails is the lenses have popped out. But they pop right back in too.

Will Costa replace a scratched lens? One of mine is scratched from where the earpiece rubs against the lens when folded. Don't want to pay the $10 for them to look at it if that's definitely not covered. Thanks.
