My favorite around here is Shapleys. I have had great food and service there every time.
Texas de Brazil in Memphios is a great restaraunt but it is not a traditional Steakhouse, it is in my top places in the world to eat.

On a negative note:
Ticos sux- service is a 0, food sucked, overpriced, atmosphere is a -10.
El Dorado was ok-not a good cut of meat when I have been. Atmosphere was ok, Lady that was running it was great.

Has anyone ever been to a Demos? Cheap and good. Not a $100 steak but cant be beat for the price. Check it out if you are ever in TN. They area TN chain and they are opening one in Florence, AL also. We go to the one in Nashville when we go to see the Titans games. We always put it on the list.

I am saying Demos is cheap and a good value. Ticos sux and aint a good value. 100 + $$ and it has been bad everytime. Some places you feeklike you get your $$ worth and some you dont. Some you feel like you got more. Last time I went was for a Christmas party. Swore I would never go back. If you bought my supper, I would have a hard time going back to Ticos. But like you said, we could ahve been in the same place on the same night and experienced two totally different things.

Everytime I have been to Tico's it has been top notched in my opinion. Been to Shapley's twice and it was pretty good but nothing any better than I could get anywhere else for a cheaper price.
