BY FAR...TriTronics releases.

TT receivers can be sync'ed to your partner's transmitter (or vice versa) which is their best feature.

They are small enough to be transportable in your pocket.

They also have a nice tone to them, instead of that crappy "duck call" sound. IMO, the duck call sound is one of the most over-rated gimmicks out there (along with "duck" scent and Dokkens, but that's a different thread). The "beep" cuts the wind and actually makes your wingers useful when the wind blows, which is most of the time

Lest you think I'm a Dogtra hater, I actually use and BY FAR prefer Dogtra e-collars. (but I admit I'm looking hard at a TT Field 90 EXP)

I agree that Dogtra and TT BOTH make fine products. Like I said, I like TT releases and Dogtra collars. But, IMO Dogtra really missed the boat by not producing an expandable release system.

My old Dogtra releases were too inflexible and big. You couldn't add a receiver if you wanted to add another winger and they were too big to easily carry around in your pocket. I didn't care for them at all. Maybe the new ones will be better, but they're dragging their feet on getting them out to the public.... :(

IMO, it's a HUGE plus to be able to buy a couple wingers and releases and then add/expand to the system later when you have more money for wingers. A total GU and receiver set-up is about $450 with winger and receiver, so if you can only afford one or two, you can always add to them later. You can also just sync your training partner's TriTronics receivers to your transmitter if you need to, in about 15 seconds, in the field...Or you can buy a used TT receiver from your friend or one of these forums and sync it to your transmitter and start training......With Dogtra's receivers, you have to send your units back to the manufacturer all the way in California, etc

Down time counts for something...frankly, I lose enough training time with work  , the weather, female stuff, and injuries, etc. I sure as heck am not going to buy a product that has to be shipped back and forth to California and lose a couple more weeks of winger use.

JMO, as always........

I just got the new Dogtra remote releases in!

New features:

Each receiver can now operate up to 2 launchers with a jumper cord. So the transmitter can operate up to 16 launchers.

No need to send anything back to Dogtra, it is simple to sync a remote with any transmitter..

Multiple sound modes: make duck sound for the pups, make a beep sound if also, so best of both worlds. you can also add an external loudspeaker if for long range if needed.

1 mile range

waterproof

Battery indicator lights: green- full, yellow, red- empty

lifetime warranty

I have not used them yet, but this may take care of some of the concerns you guys had with the previous models...

Hey Cat,

I just bought another winger and called Dogtra and they shipped me another receiver. I just gave them a couple numbers from the transmitter.

So they are expandable up to 6 wingers. Looks like the new ones are even more expandable.

But, some buy Chevy some buy Ford.
