Don't know. Maybe it would be because of traffic trying to get back. This was one of the distributors up here that said that.

because everyone is freaking out, buying as much as they possibly can the shortage was caused by panic of a shortage.. if everyone would have stuck with their normal routine, we would be fine

not true yelp. this is all caused by the f'ing media which, in turn, causes the public to panic. but the gas companies are the ones pulling the trigger. we might as well just bend over and take it like a woman.

Jumped 30 cents here over night. Now I'm paying 3.96 for it and I am heading down South Palm Beach on Tuesday, who knows what it will be down there.

My correspondence with our top notch AG's office:

I sent them this today:

Thank you for paying attention and copy/pasting your form letter to Mr. Redmond for me. My last name, however, is Parker. Good to know you all are "on the ball" down there at the AG's office. I feel much better now...

As for the station that robbed me, it is Dutch Village Shell on the corner of Hwy 12 and Hwy 50 in Columbus. At 5:45am Friday morning I paid $3.55 per gallon. At 12 noon it was $3.57 per gallon and when I left to come home to Brandon at 4:00pm it was $3.78 per gallon and going up. It's amazing that a gas station can sell tens of thousands of gallons in less than 12 hours and no tanker trucks have shown up with "newly priced" gas but the price increases 21 cents.

And by the way, Gustav was 2 weeks ago, this absurd increase is supposedly related to Ike. You should really update your form letter before you send it again so the wool doesn't slip too far from in front of our eyes...

Fecking arseholes...

You sent a letter for .20 cents?? I've seen prices drop that much in day before. I'm not sure that 20 cents really qualifies as gouging?

BTW - 3.78 is still cheaper than what it was in my neighborhood yesterday and today.

Principle of the whole thing really. The gas was bought and paid for and not sold out, then replenished in 11 hours with 20 cents more expensive gas. There's a serious problem in Columbus with price gouging every day and it sucks to be taken advantage of even more just because someone's yacht payment is due...

Scott's in Greenwood both stations went up 1.00 from 3.60 to 4.60 yesterday and this moring it was at 3.80 that is gouging at its best. None of the other 20 stations went up just them.....

Yeah I saw the AG on the news saying that they did verify that Macs did pay $5.17 per gallon for the gas and that is what they are charging.. But it is pretty freakin funny to me because NOBODY else in Brandon has had to pay that kind of money to get more gas and I saw a tanker filling up a stations tanks today and their price stayed the same.. Everytime you drive by Macs there is NOBODY buying that high dolla gas and will be a few vehicles at Texaco and Exxon.. This will prob cause them to lose alot of money because with the initial reports that Refiniaries in Galvelston area not damaged, they won't be able to get rid of that fuel...
