I didnt panic and go buy gas like everyone else and now the prices are starting to come right on back down. Instead I bought a case of beer and sat at the house.

I would guess most stations will be seeing very few customers over the next 10-14 days since most filled-up the tanks on Friday and 80% of 'em can go 1-2 weeks on a full tank.

Had to think when it was reported some stations had posted a 10 gallon limit, some of the Neegrans may have thought they HAD to purchase 10 gallons. Dang.

mac's paid over $5 /gallon for his last batch of gas... he is not price gouging.

i know of stations that are OUT of gas and will not be buying any until the price goes down. They can't get it for cheaper than $5 as of Sunday afternoon......

the suppliers are charging more money, so the individual station owners have to charge more.
They don't make any money on gas anyway. 5cents a gallon is a good profit in todays market.

So before you go believing all the negative press that Mac's is getting, you ought to take a look at his last invoice for the gas he has in the ground. he paid over $5 a gallon///and that is a FACT.

I was told yesterday that one of the supplier here in town was told it would be 5.15 a gallon to get it delivered today. My truck is on E but I am holding off as long as I can to fill up.

Gas goes to 5.00 but as of today oil dropped to a new low of under 100 a barrell due to the fact that fu%king speculators saw that not much damage was made to refineries etc from storm. Now go figure. Gas should be cheaper than it has been in a year but now they saying they having trouble delievering. WHATEVER!!!! Mac's was a dumb booty!!! He deserves all the press he is getting for paying that. I knew of several who own stations that could have bought gas as of fri at 4.90. They said we willl run out first!!!!

Guys....Gasoline for November delivery is trading at 2.42 down from yesterday morning 2.77. I am not sure about gasoline but propane/Natural Gas is usually priced at 0.05 -0.10 over board price. Even if it was trading at .20 above board (Which would be unheard of) that would only be at 2.62/gal. Where the He!! Is the other 2.38 coming from? I don’t care how you look at it we are all getting screwed blued and tattooed.

I told ya'll three months ago crude would be around 90 by the end of the year. And ul gas should be around 2.50. I did not factor in the Hurricane effect on the gas but when the refineries get back online I still 2.50 or less gas by the end of the year.

We were out alligator hunting Friday night or Saturday night when an owner of several gas stations called my colleague in the boat and the discussion turned to the fact that in order to get gasoline, he would be required to pay $5.15 per gallon. The owner said he would just run out of fuel and wait until the price came down, no way was he going to buy fuel at that price and then lose $20,000.00 when the price of fuel went down in a few days.

These gas station owners are having a hard time when they are paying what is required and most people today swipe the credit card at the pump which cost the owner another 2%-3% charged by the card company, and most people don't walk in and buy drinks, candy, tobacco products, etc.

I fueled up 3 55 gallons drums with 60 gallons each with Stabil added in Brandon, MS on the Tuesday morning before Hurricane Gustav came ashore on Monday, and paid $3.369 per gallon or $202.14 per barrel. That's a pretty good return on investment at today's prices. The price of oil is lower and we are still well above the price of gasoline a week before Gustav arrived. That is the power of instant communication, the stations raise the price well ahead of the Governor declaring a State of Emergency which prevents the price gouging elements as required by law. Bottom line is that human greed will wreck this nation as we have seen in the stock markets yesterday and we will continue to see when AIG, the largest insurance company in the world files bankruptcy later this week......

Yeah, since before Hurricane Katrina, I've always kept 3-4 barrels full so I wouldn't have to worry about a gas crisis/emergency. I had been using the gas out of the barrels when it went to nearly $4 a gallon and was out. The fuel had been in the barrels about 18 months, so I used the fuel while the price was high and refueled when it was low. I wasn't giving a cent more to the big oil companies than I had to. Just stayed home and only went to work, church, and necessary travel while it was near $4 a gallon.

If we have a situation like Houston is about to experience without power, as though you haven't forgotten Katrina, as a Special Agent I get called out and have to leave moma and my two boys 8 and 10 at home. I remember the craziness of the gas station lines after Katrina. I store it in my shop about 80-100 yards away from the house so a leak isn't a problem and a .308 SOCOM 16 rifle by the bed at night keeps the thieves on the property until I can plant them in the garden.....
