It always seems to happen that way.
Our group on three occations have taken land that was totally unproductive for ducks, built holes, blinds, habitat, and water control devices and have it where we were getting good numbers of birds in. Only to lose it the next season to people with money to spend.
You cannot blame the land owner for wanting to get the most for his land. HOWEVER the land owner never really seems to remember that the land was not that good before the people that first leased it made it that way.
If I was a land owner I would try to get the best of both worlds. People with that kind of money do not want to work the land and make the place better. most just want to hunt. I would try and get the New poeple wanting to hunt to join the boys that are already there.
We have lost two of the clubs we had to people out of Jackson paying 8 fold what we were paying for the place. It sucks cause a working man don't have a chance unless he has family or friends to take care of him.
Public is all you have after that and that sucks when your surrounded by weekend warriors using 18 spinners, 12 dippers, 2 mallard machines.
