if you don't wanna spray paint it there's a product that prevents rust on guns called "Inhibitor"

http://www.theinhibitor.com/

the make a shell, that you chamber in your gun before you lock it up. Works wonders, they also make a type that you place in your gun safe and forget about it, some of you may have more knowledge about this company. The shell works good though imo

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

Mine ain't new by anyones standard, but I had a rust problem with my 870. I steel wooled it down to bare metal, and sprayed it od green. I used the "camo" paint from walmart. It is going to need another coat next year, but no more rust....

Where do you go about getting a chamber polished?

exactly what you said... 'they dont make them like they used to"

i have had 3 brand new 870's that did the same thing. Had one fall into 5 peices while in the duck blind. went and bought a benelli and have never been happier.

bottom line, you can't hunt at wal mart anymore.
