North delta ducks
I had some guys call this afternoon in the North Delta and said ducks are everywhere. They said the coldwater has dropped and the ducks are coming from the south. The fields are frozen up but the ducks are still hitting the ice.Can anyone confirm this
I think that they are pulling my chain so i will take off work.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things

Re: North delta ducks
not so sure about that....hunted tunica this afternoon and didnt see one mallard....pintails pintails and more pintails
Re: North delta ducks
I saw plenty of birds in N Sunflower today. Tons of ice everywhere so the birds were rafting up and looking for open water. Temps are supposed to go up but if u have friends who want u to hunt the to help with work. Birds or not come Monday work will be around but duck season won't.
No, i don't want to know you ---- teul

Surely the longer a man duck hunts the wealthier he becomes in experience,in reminiscence,in love of nature,if he goes out with the harvest of a quiet eye, free from the plague of himself

What's wrong with Pintails? I'd rather kill them than mallards anyday.

Kill one and your done. Setting up for the hunt takes longer than the acutal hunt.

Re: North delta ducks
I understand that....but I guess i'm saying being out there and shooting a pintail is better than nothing.

Re: North delta ducks
Your right...better to have ducks to shot, even if you can only shot one, than to have no birds to shot at all.

Re: North delta ducks
The past 7 days have produced limits in an around the Crowder area. Some are taking longer to get than others but have not heard of anyone being in later than noon.
Club next to us had a huge crowd and killed I think somewhere in the 250's over Sat/Sun/Mon
Lots of Teal, Gadwall, Widgeon, and of course Mr. Shoveler himself
I know 4 of us limited this morning and I was done and in the office at lunch.

Re: North delta ducks
I'm hunting close to Greenwood and yesterday there were nothing but pintails, only saw two mallards. I saw the majority of ducks between 930 and 11:00. Today was just the opposite with lots of mallards and very few birds after 8:00.

Has been good the last 7 days, lots of ducks in between HWY32 and HWY8, went yesterday and three of us got limits of mallards and gadwalls. Was back on the bank at 7:11

Are we gonna get wet?
