Re: shovelers
You can throw anything into gumbo
Re: shovelers
Here's my experience...they taste like they smell...wich can be better or worse depending on where they been hanging out. If I go hunting and all I see are spoonies, you can bet, atleast a couple are gona get shot. Gumbo or sausage for the inlaws is perfect for em

Re: shovelers
another question is if you see a whole that always has them is that good or bad, another words woulld that generlly mean other ducks use this spot or is this a spoon whole

Re: shovelers
a duck is a duck if you ask me
Re: shovelers
I always see spoonies tryin' to keep up with teal...its tough to lay off the bigger bird at sunrise. Depends on where your seein' em brotha. If they are in a flooded feild you should see other dux. If your seein' em on a recycle or catfish pond, your only gona see spoonies and the dreaded ruddy duck, and, they will taste like poop. Id thin the heard regardless

Re: shovelers
Just ask Richard "Hollywood" Evers, he knows everything about spoonies.

Surely the longer a man duck hunts the wealthier he becomes in experience,in reminiscence,in love of nature,if he goes out with the harvest of a quiet eye, free from the plague of himself

Re: shovelers
Yeah, but they sure do work real good! I hunted in a place a few times this year that was wrapped up with shovelers. I felt like the duck commander when they came around
