thats about what happens. generally the fish is tired and exhausted by then too and its not like people are just randomly shooting in the water at it. Although some people might, but it depends on the captain/crew on the boat.

Same as some people shooting a cobia (or ling or lemon fish) in order to bring it in the boat. I carry a small aluminum bat that's about 24" long to kill it before it comes in the boat. Them fish have some hooks along their back and would tear a person up thrashing around in the boat. Much less tear up the boat itself too.

the people on the trip split the meat within themselves. The mate and captain usually don't take any because they fish every day of the week with other customers.

Fishing has been amazing out there. In one week a 722 lb mako was caught by some freinds of mine with a charter captain. When they cut him open, there was a 4' black tip in his belly!

Then a week later, they pull up the big Mako, just unbelieveable. Of course on top of all of this the Lump is on fire with big Tuna and wahoo also. Can't wait for tomorrow!

usually 100 bucks per guy is good, usually just the capt. and maybe one deckhand, so if you break that up among your friends its only about 30 extra bucks not to terrible and then the guide doesn't mind letting you book next time cause he knows you will take care of him. tipping isn't mandatory it's just customary

Man o man, I love me some bluewater action. Nothing like bringing in around 1000 pounds of fish in one day. I love it when the black fin look like a big ass bream bed all jacked up on mountain dew!!!

We usuall tip around 200-300, and the captain and deck hand work there ass off.


Can't wait til May 3rd.

$1200 plus fuel....I was headed to Venice this weekend but an all day soccer event cut me off. Youll ever want to catch a tuna let me know I have several buddies that guide..

Couple of years ago we put one in the boat, YFT that was over 195#....
That joker was a backbreaker. Capn said " Ya'll want to keep fishin?" We said, "Naw, we're good. Turn this thing around and head on back to the Asian bar.."
4 guys ended up with over 40# of tuna each...
