Interesting link Wingman, it brought back memories. My first recolection of hunting was in the area bought up by the govt in 1978. Panther was a great place! One of my uncles was one of the last holdouts. He and two other guys had 200 acres of the best duck hunting in the world. The govt land surrounded them. Regular run ends w/ folks who thought they were on govt land frustrated them to the point they finally gave up and sold out.

How are the ring neck pheasants doing in Humphreys county?

LOL! I think the song-dogs must've eaten all of those ring-necks b/c I've never seen one in my 30 years of living here!

Good points all around on this discussion. I tell my 2 boys that they will probably have too decide whether their kids will get too hunt one day and not to take any day for granted that they can go hunting. I take them anytime that they want too go. I try too instill in them the sportsmanship and all the safety factors and game laws involved in hunting. Why we shoot why, we dont shoot.
I do agree with go24 that the next generation will decide the fate of hunting in this country in their lifetime but SB , Wingman and the rest of the guys are also correct. I have gotten a squirrel dog this year and ask the guys @ work if they would like too take their kids hunting with the dog. I tell them anytime you want to go holler @ me. The way I figure it it doesnt cost that much too do it and your gettin a kid out there in the woods.
I hope that they wont have too make this decision but odds are they will. The next generation is the future of the hunting sport and gun ownership rights in this country. I hope all who read this post understand that each time they hear of someone violating the law with a firearm they are just a little bit closer too losing THEIR RIGHT TOO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS.
Call SB he is a good guy and he will talk too ya.
As the ole FFA creed goes here's too "Better days, through better ways."
"You can either shoot on the next pass or watch me do it." Winchester rules hehehehe .......Amen
