Jimmy Wilson trains my dog HRCH Gator Point's Bayou Chopper. He started training Chopper at 10 months old. Chopper didn't have any other training before going to Jimmy. At 12 months Chopper received his SHR title and at 21 months he received his Hunting Retriever Championship (HRCH). Chopper only needs one more pass for his AKC Senior Hunter title. Jimmy is a great guy and a great trainer. I am very happy with him and have been since the very first day. Jimmy is a Christian man, very honest and never lies. He is not like some trainers that only tell you what you want to hear, Jimmy only tells you the truth. I recommend Jimmy highly. He lives in Mathiston, a few miles from Starkville. His phone number is 662-295-0709.

Many things to consider in a pro trainer but one big thing I've looked at living in Ms is .......

Do they go north for summer training?

If your dog is going to get big dog training its hard to do it safely in MS from June to October. A trainer in MS will be very limited in time spent training during these months. A trainer that goes north and lives in his truck does NOTHING but train daylight to dark 7 days a week.

I have sent 2 dogs north for summer trips and it was the best money I ever spent.

Ronnie Lee goes north for the summer and I would recommend him highly.

I don't know the others mentioned, but you will not go wrong with Ronnie Lee! He is the best at getting the most out of the dogs on his truck. Good Luck!

Clark kennington. I have a jam up lab that i trained and i hunt like a desparate fool and so does my dog. I wouldnt trade my dog for nothing. thats how good he is. Clark is a close friend of mine and he has helped me with my dog and his advise is golden. He is patient but can break the most stubborn of all dogs. He is too cheap for his training. He should triple his rates for the job he does. If u want to see proof then check out his personal dog.

Clark, is that you or did you hire a PR guy? haha.

Plenty of choices around starkville, visit with all the trainers recommended, watch how they work with the dogs, decide what you want from your dog and what your willing to sacrifice/spend (time & money) to get your dog to that point. Form your own opinion is the best advise i could give you on trainers.

I think Freddy McCory may be near that area, too.

Jimmy Wilson is a good fellow!

Jimmy Wilson, Clark Kennington, Freddy McCrory are all good trainers and personal friends of mine. I recommend them highly. Jimmy Wilson is my personal trainer for our kennel.
