It is a jealousy issue for some of them. Knew a club back in the 80's that did not allow bowhunting. You could bowhunt after the normal gun season opened, but not before. Their number one rule should have been no 4 wheelers between 6:00 and 9:00 AM because that is all they seemed to do during those hours. Great place as far as wildlife is concerned, but total BS in the leadership roles.

How about "you hunted to many days last year" so We decided not to let you back in.

and then "next year" only the top ten Members will be able to turkey hunt. Meaning the pres vice pres and there buds could hunt 3000 acres for turkey.

simple rule of thumb for dealing with these kind a people...

meet before dues are paid........

the land owner or the lessee of the property cannot be president.

everbody does a silent vote on who will be the president.

number one rule:

paint a circle in the yard and all disputes are settled within......

worked really well.....

Not to offend anyone, but if people still hunt in the club with these moronic rules then they themselves are morons :?

I love this one:

The camp will follow strictly to MDWFP rules. Meaning 3 bucks per year.

This means 3 bucks per hunter per year. Not 3 bucks per member per club. I know folks that adhere to camp rules by killing 3 bucks in a particular club, then kill additional bucks in other camps or private land. If you are going to strictly adhere to the rules, then that is what you should do.

The "rules were made for someone else, not me" attitude kills a club.

No guests allowed during Turkey season....

As long as you only get 3 birds under your membership what does it matter if your buddy is beside you & pulls the trigger.....

Being with your buddies is what makes turkey hunting so fun.... there were many times this year i pulled up to camp with chopper laid down on my floorboard covered with my turkey vest...

Being able to turkey hunt a place like that is worth getting on a floor board or two (not saying which one...)

I actually culled a great camp because of one idiot. I got tired of his attitude, griping, whining, lying, changing rules, yada yada, etc. I should have just whipped his butt. Only prob was he is 60 something. Was trying to salvage a friendship with his son, so I took a lot of stuff I wouldnt have otherwise. Finally had all I could take, I bowed out of one of the best places I ever had to hunt. Looks like I lost a friend anyway. Oh well.
I have refused to have conflict in what i like to do. I have to put up with BS at work but I will be double d damn if I put up with a bunch of crap where I hunt.
Down to hunting with a friend and depending on family on a lease. Good places and i am thankful for them. But I lost a lot of time and effort workin on other places due to idiots!!!!!
