Yes Bates I have seen your requests for freebies as well.

They ask for spots, then bring all manner of junk to them, set up 60 yards away from you and shoot at ducks on the backside of a circle working your spread, and the list goes on and on and on.

Just a wonderful contribution to duck hunting you are giving. Many thanks for all the out of state car plates and skybusters. I dont know what duck hunting on public land would be without them.

If you cant read whoever88's posts and tell that he is not 15, he is not a green kid, but he IS fishing for holes, then I don't know what to tell you except keep on telling them and soon we will all be going to La. to hunt because there are too many tourists in Miss to get a decent hunt off.

I dont think that I asked for Freebies. I do a great deal of research on an area before I scout it out on foot. The areas that I thought were interesting and warrented further investigation, I threw out on the board for discussion. Freebies, no, a feel for there potential yes. I have my ussual places that I hunt and have been hunting for years. I love them and will continue to hunt but I am always looking. If you are complacent and dont search out new places, well thats too bad. I enjoy hunting for new places as well as hunting for ducks. Weret you the guy who didnt like me talking about Whittington Lake, hope I see you there. Good hunting, may you find the perfect hole.

Oh I have found the perfect hole, found several of them. Trouble is they are full of tourist now and people who have no manners.

You can tear your motor up gettting to holes that are off the beaten trail, and the tourist hear you shooting them. Tomorrow, they will follow you in.

In the old days it was the coffee shop at which men talked about duck hunting, but nobody ever said where they were hunting.

People who talk about specific places dont hunt them, or they wouldnt talk about them.

I just wish people on these state of the art communication relay devices would think a little bit before they devulge information about how to get to somebody elses shooting hole. You know good and well they wont be that generous when speaking about their own.

Well Jim I AM 15 wether or not you believe me! I don't think im green I think I look pretty white! lol And yes I will admit I am "fishing" for a place to hunt only because I never really hunted like yall do and would like to at least try, and if i don't like it u won't see me again, if i do like it i might be back but the whole county ain't gonna be with me. And don't worry I am in the GREAT STATE of MISSISSIPPI!!! And am not some tourist with his fancy gizzmos and gagdets, just a couple box's of shells and my good ole 12ga.
If you have anymore negative input tell me in a private message Im sure all these good folks on here are tired of hearing your mess.

But like I said Im not here to steal anyones hunting hole, if I get serious about duck hunting I'll search for my on spot. I just was looking for a place to start. I hope you will accecpt my apologe.

See, there you go again Bates

Duckdude88, I actually bought my first dozen mallard dekes and plastic waders with money I got for tending to 6 Tennessee Walking horses. I hated mucking stalls. The barn was at the base of a knoll and the stalls stayed wet. A wheel-barrow full of wet shavings is heavy! The feller used to pay me $4 cash an hour. That was back in '88 and was proud of that $40-$50 a week.

I had a friend in Carthage that used to work a month on/off on an oil rig in Africa.

Duck88 no offense taken in the matter, you are actually not the point of the concern. This is not a table at Jim's Cafe in Greenville where a couple of well meaning men decide to help a young and determined duck hunter by showing him where to shoot some ducks. This is the internet, and nobody here has one idea about just how many people are sitting at this table. Even in Jim's and at a table of three, we still lean in when we say the name and directions of a public place where there are birds because you never know who is listening. Somehow that whole idea and the reason why we do it has been lost in this medium, sitting at a table where untold numbers are listening. As I said before, people who talk about specific places on this machine probably are never telling anyone about their personal places to hunt. They are telling them about someone elses.
I could sit down for an hour and blurt out the hottest spots in the delta and exactly how to get to them because I have been to most of them. However I have no intention of doing that because I would not do that to other hunters. It is about respect among your peers. I wish that the preferred method of helping a young hunter, all of which certainly should be helped and encouraged, would be in private messaging, or in an actual meeting somewhere to size them up. The place to speak of small but lucractive duck spots in my opinion is not in a public forum.
