Rice Bran for Deer

Postby CROWDERDUCK10 » Sat Jul 11, 2009 3:10 pm

Last year, I used rice bran as a supplemental feeding for the deer. Got some awsome pics. The deer loved this stuff. I had to purchase it in 50lb bags. Anyone know where I could buy it in bulk

Scruggs farm supply in Tupelo. Man the deer were walking over the corn and leaving it to eat the rice bran. I was told that rice bran is one of the main ingrediants in Cmere Deer

We feed it as a supplement to our horses (in bags from Scruggs in Tupelo and Brown's in Columbus) - and they love it.

Thanks for the heads up on the deer - I'm going to try it out.

you will love it. Lot cheaper than corn and is actually good for them unlike corn.

yep been feeding it to the deer down hear for a long time, they love it, so do the coons and the bears. we have bears on film sitting in the middle of a pile of rice bran and shoveling it in their mouths with their paws. anyway only deal is once it gets wet its done, it'll sour up then nothing will touch it.

Deer either love it or ignore it. I've got several pics from last year where the deer let it and the corn next to it go to waste while they ate from locust pods.

It's like crack down in the Woodville area. I've seen lots of pics from various camera of deer doing crazy stuff around the bran.
