If I may, just ask yall with this thinking a question? I know you hail from South Texas, or little Mexico, whichever you prefer to call it, but let me ask if african americans, that run around saying kiss my black booty, or shaking their weiners, like was talked about in that artical about in that Alligator mayor article, were to move into, and nextdoor, or in your town and act all foolish as they do, would you just sit by and not say anything just because it is the Christian thing to do? Not all of these threads are racial. Does just bringing it out in the open that the local african americans(as they wish to be called, most having never seen africa) are preforming, as it has been called, "reverse racism". I see it everyday. "They" just act like I owe them something. I am polite as can be, and "they" go out their way to just be a horse's booty. I'm not saying that I am 100% in the right, but i'm not going to stand by and just "hope" it goes away. I never did anything to "them", and I'm not going to take any chit because of it. You want racism to end, fine, then we will all be equal, but "they" wont let it happen, becasue "they" feel like we still owe "them" something and we will never be equal until "they" "get what's owed to them in their eyes"....and I don't "owe" them a dam thing!.

Funny that most of the supporters of this anti racial stuff are the large majority in their area. The exception is Doc in Merigold. Just sayin....

first of all believe me I can relate to the frustration you know I hail from Cleveland and the heart of the Delta where racism is alive and well (although I think it may be more prevalent here in Jackson area after living here three years) anyhoo

as long as there are those that act as you described on both sides and no one changes then you wont have to hope it goes away I can assure it never will

as far as the behavior and the neighborhood question I would nt tolerate theat behavior nor would I subject myself to it by living in a neighborhood where those things occurred white black red or yellow

I have black neighbors, co workers and friends they dont act like that...I have white neighbors co workers and friends nor do they act like that

if they did (any of them) to answer your question YES I take action, prolly move...and for the record sitting idley by is not necassarily "the Christian thing to do"...I agree it doesnt bode well for the African American race that statistically speaking young African American males account for a large protion of these actions or crimes

lived both places and now reside in Rankin county and IMO racism is more prevalent here...

Thanks doc and cwink. Reminds me off the big debate a few years ago when the mods quit allowing pictures of scantily clad women...while I had no problem with them continuing, I appreciated the fact that a lot of folks sometimes had wives or kids reading over their shoulders - same deal here - all the race stuff just makes for an uncomfortable environment.

As for how to deal with awful situations like the Jackson airport story, our charge as Christians is to forgive but not necessarily to forget. Wear out everyone you can find with official and unofficial complaints, get supporting emails etc. from others on here with similar experiences. But when it comes to supporting the Klan, which blows my mind but it sounds like some folks on here do, remember that back in their heyday the Klan said they were a Christian organization and that should be an outrage to people of faith everywhere and especially in the South.

I am not saying that you don't have a legitmate concern. If I was in that situation I would too. But it has nothing to do with the color of skin. I can promise you these same issues exist in South Texas, but it is with Mexican Americans instead of African Americans. They have a slang/racial term for that too. Instead of Mexican a lot of people call them Mezcan, which I dont agree with either. They have the same type attitude, as if we stole thier country from them. You have the same issue with "White Trash" in other parts of the country. My point is that this is not a racial issue, it is a social class issue.. But because you live in MS where you have a larger population of Blacks is why your issues tend to be with Black people. If you lived in San Fransico your problem wouldn't be Blacks, it would be gay. So yes you have legitimate conerns about how people act and think, because they don't agree with yours, But if you lived in another part of the country your issues would be different.

As for the town of Alligator, what you see there is that those that can get out will, and that town will die off. Just the way it goes.

I am by no means saying that I don't use the N word from time to time. In fact I am know to unfortunatley have a pretty foul mouth. Just ask Forrest and Duncan DR2's kids, I bet I have taught them new words while fishing since they were about 5. I just don't think they have a place in this forum.

You did not happen to see where they were taking applications did you? If the KKK is making a comeback for all the right reasons, to protect the heratage of white christian Americans, then ain't nothing wrong with that. I for one don't like having to live day to day worrying about what my girls might hear or see the cheeseburgers do.

I feel pretty confident that the KKK is in NO WAY protecting the heritage of any true, Bible believing, Christ honoring Christians in this country or any other. You can argue over whether they are protecting the rights and heritage of white Americans, and you can argue over whether or not that is a worthwhile cause, but the KKK IN ON WAY represents the interests of Christ. Any one who holds scripture as the final authority on life MUST disagree with not only the tactics the KKK uses, but the beliefs that they put forward.

I don't get on here and preach because I don't know most the people on here. I do know how most Southerners think. I grew up in South Carolina. Heck, we invented the South But I think the line needs to be drawn between what may be the consensus on this board and what Christ taught us.

Everyone has a Bible or has access to one, and most everybody can read. The Bible is very clear on this issue.

This is a forum for hunters... White hunters, black hunters and any other color hunters... I don't mind hearing people vent about frustrating situations, but making blanket statements about any particular race is just wrong... It is wrong for black people to be racist and it is equally wrong for white people... Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I thought that the south had come a long way on this issue and it is disappointing to see so much hate coming from a group (hunters) that I identify myself with...
