Hens

Postby Bankermane » Thu Jan 22, 2004 8:10 am

I guess I have some explaining to do. First of all we were legal. I knew we had a problem when the sun came up. Looking out at the spread it was obvious that we put out way too many hen decoys. Then ole Doomie starts doing that lonesome hen and come back call. I told him to call greenheads, but he wouldn't quit I knew we were in for trouble. Then Sidney keeps seeing bands hanging from the hens feet. What can I say? I'm taking a can of greenpaint this weekend to paint hen heads for the pictures. :)

Nick T.

Postby Bankermane » Thu Jan 22, 2004 10:49 am

Are you talking about red wine drinking, cigar smokin, duck grillin, turbo callin, tuna catchin Nick T.? don't know that fellow real well. Funny thing. We were all standing around a stick fire outside the camp house last year when this strange truck pulled up. This guy gets out, comes over, and asks for directions to Timbo's. He looked lost so we invite him in. Eventually, we told him to get in the bottom rack and snore like the rest of us. He did. The next morning we get up to go hunting and he asked if he could go. He said he liked putting out and picking up decoys and breasting ducks. Sound like a deal! We do let him sky bust at the geese and a few high flighers. This Christmas we pitched in and bought him a remote control mallard machine. He has a great time foolin with it while we hunt. He thinks it's a wide screen TV, I guess. :D

Received sad news today that another of our MSDucks friends, Bankermane, has passed.

By some stroke of luck we managed briefly to visit over the phone with him a few weeks ago. We hunted several times together in Argentina, and he often had me laughing until I cried. One morning in Cordoba, they positioned us such that our respective shooting zones overlapped and he made sport of poaching as many of my incoming birds as possible - I managed to drop one dead in his lap, but he shot circles around me the entire morning! We enjoyed a couple great duck hunts in Uruguay also.

Years ago on another website, he was given moderation privledges and injected a single sentence into one of Benny's long-winded rants - some of y'all remember exactly what I'm talking about. It sent Benny through the roof and over the moon. I laugh everytime I think about it and am doing so even now as I type.

RIP Bankermane.
