I'm thinking a .308 or a 30-06 will make quick work of them at a long distance. If they are close start out with 12 ga. with
00buck shot and as they get some distance from you take the rest out with the high powered rifle. My choice would be
150 grain core locks. They shouldn't go far after you hit em with that.

JB, i do agree with you on this, however it pains my soul on those few occation when i have had to shoot a dog that was at sometime someones pet. there are definatly times when its right, but i try to ere on the side of caution in that situation.

Well down here in Fl I have a darn coon(not a president) that keeps getting in my trash can every night, and even walks up to the back door and looks in during broad day light with golfers everywhere. My neighbors have been complaining as well so I decided Im going to shoot it next time I see it. So needless to say that my .40 is on the kitchen table during the day and on the window seal at night. I'm going to get this critter before Thursday!

So to address your situation, I suggest you do like I am and kill that sum beach!

You might want to read Mississippi Code 97-41-16 before cutting down on them. You say they are wild but if you mess up and shoot a pet it will cost you restitution, $1,000.00, or six months in jail.

Just sayin'.

I say shoot first ask questions later, use a gun with a scope and check for collars. No collar BOOM! dead dog, got a collar save them till last and if the look wild cap there booty to, for all you know they could be rabid. If this land is private you are allowed to kill them, if they belong to someone they should not be on your property.
Damn, i thought I had that one

Is that buddy of yours tryin to blow that call or make love to it?

Dude, just go back and read what happened to me one night at my house, and you won't even have to ask what to do!!!!!!  Collars or no collars, pet or no pet if it tries to attack you or do unwanted damage to your property or livestock, put a bullet in them,,,,,put as many as your gun will hold in them and as fast as it will shoot. Mine just happens to hold alot of 7.62x39 and shoots really, really fast!!!
