Bismuth vs Hevi-Shot
Which do you like better......
I may go to Heaven, or I may go to hell....But one thing is for certain..It'll be after Duck season!!
Hevi-Shot is vastly superior in every aspect except price. You can't fight physics. The stuff is significantly harder than your barrel's steel. So, I would not shoot reloads unless I did them myself with a mylar wrap.
So many ducks, so little time....

i came across a guy that sold us hevi-shot at $14.00 for a box of 10. I figured what the heck thats a really fair price so I picked up the remaining 8 boxes he had... let me tell u guys something .. that stuff is the real McCoy... usually they sell that stuff for around $20.00 a box but i promise u that with 10 of those shells you'll kill just as many ducks as you would with say 20-25 regular steel loads. and by the way those weary ducks that work just outside the decoy spread. you can spank that booty with those loads. 70 yards shots are possible. i saw iron grip make some shots with that stuff where i was saying no way but he proved me wrong..
in my 20 years of hunting ducks. i've never seen anything like that hevi shot.

Gulfcoast...I've read some articles 'bout that Hevi-Shot...One said that if it's not TOTALLY covered in the shotcup and/or have a Mylar wrap it could casue pitting and damage the guns barrell...I take it the factories use the mylar wrap...I haven't bought any wraps for reloading...Not certain how they seat in the hull..or in the wad...
Thinking about relaoding Bismuth vice the Hevi-Shot...from what I've read the reloading components are similar to those of lead reloading...

Granted, it is expensive, but I look at it like this--you go out and buy all the calls, $100 spinners that dont work, mallard machines and all that other crap, then why wouldnt you spend some extra money so when you get your shots, you make 'em that much better. You get up at the butt crack of dawn, sometimes walk your booty off to get to a spot, throw out all your decoys. Not shooting the best thing YOU (within your price range) could would be in my opinion, stupid! If the pellets dont fly, the steaks dont fy
