Toyota Tundra
Toyota Tundra
Whose driving them? Thinking about trading/selling my current Toyota and have been looking at the new body style Tundras.
If you've got one, give me the good and the bad. I can't decide between the CrewMax or the Double Cab. Anybody got one and wish you had bought the other? I like the extra room in the bed of the Double Cab but the interior room of the CrewMax looks nice, too.
Not looking to buy new, probably an 07 or 08 so if anybody has had problems with these year models, let me know.

Re: Toyota Tundra
Get the double cab (unless you have some 300+ pound guys riding in back seat).
You will not be happy with the too small truck bed on the crew max.
The Tundra v-8 engine is the BEST on the market and it is built in Huntsville, AL.

The "spruce mica" is a great color for hunting. Looks like the old "olive drab" military color.
God Bless you

The engine is built in Alabama? Doesn't sound like a plus to me. I'll take japanese-built any day.

All the japanese v-8s are built over here now.
Both the Tundra and the Camry are 100% made in America.
Pretty sure that the Nissan Titan is 90% built here now.

Re: Toyota Tundra
Crewmax is 100 times better looking and the bed is not a problem. That's just my opinion. I can fit a lot of stuff in the back seat when I don't want to leave stuff in the weather. Double cab doesn't have that option. If you truely work out of the truck I can understand the bed space but if its just a all around truck...I don't see the point in getting anything other than a crew cab pickup nowadays.
Re: Toyota Tundra
Any gas mileage diff in the crew cab vs double cab?
Re: Toyota Tundra
I have one from '07,the first year of the bigger body style. I love it,so does my wife. I went with the double cab rather than the max crew . Our family aren't big people. Most average size folks will be fine in the back seat. Also, I went with the smaller V8, because at the time, the 5.7 V8 was brand new,and I didn't want to be the guenea pig. But, everyone that I know that has the 5.7 has had no problems with it.
Re: Toyota Tundra
I had a 2000 extra cab, and non swimmer pulled out in front of me and I totaled it last November. It took three weeks for the toyota place to find me a used tundra. I found a another extra cab 2006 model and bought it because I like the other so much. In those three weeks I drove around an 08 4 door. I almost did not want my 06 when it came in. It rode like a cadillac and ran like a camaro, but drank gas like a dodge
. It had so much room in it I felt like I was going back to a Tocoma.

There will be a day....

Re: Toyota Tundra
To me, one of the only problems is changing the oil. Other than that, its a great truck I wouldn't trade my 08 crewmax for anything. 4WD has been dependable, pulls great, hauled 5 big guys to and from the bean field all weekend. Great all around truck. Gas mileage is not as bad as one would think either. Avg about 18 - 20
