I know a fed place that counts mergs as your 6 duck limit. Been many tickets written there over the years to prove it. I dont eat them so I dont shoot them, but seen many fools lay them down and proudly tote them out jsut to recieve that thank you letter from BG

Add crows to the list and there ain't no limit. Lay the smack down on as many as you want. Used to spend February riding the roads at my local WMA blasting crows.

brandon327 wrote:The way that i read the bag limit is you can kill 6 ducks, 5 mergansers(only 2 hooded), and 15 coots. So a total of 26 waterfowl that you can take in a single hunt. I always thought that the merganser was included in the duck limit.

Also 3 canadas, 2 brant (good luck), 2 specs, and 20 snow/blue/ross which makes is 53.
and after Christmas, add 15 dove to that.

I call BS on that one. A lot of people try and make GW out as idiots especially Federal GW's. However I have yet to meet one in my short 29 years of hunting. Every game warden I have ever met knew what they were doing and knew the law. A federal GW no matter what their background has to go through like a 4 year program to become one. No way I believe someone writing tickets for mergansers as part of the duck limit. In fact you tell me which NWR and I'll buy the out of state license and hunt there just to see. No kidding.

Yeah, but JEFF, That would mean you would have to kill your 6 duck limit plus one more bird.

We all know OOS'ers cant kill a limit of birds!!!

Just a joke man, we cant catch a limit of trout either.. :D

It's not just the law, its a good idea.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)
