Dude I don't know you but I lived in Denver while doing an internship. All I can say is go there is a reason they are the healthiest state in the country. There is some much to do. Oh btw the south platte river is one of the best hunting spots in the west. With all that said GO
Re: Move to Colorado?
Used to have family in a suburb of Denver...Highland Ranch or something like that. The things I learned about CO during the times I spent out there: lots of outdoor activities (biking, skiing, hiking, fishing, big game hunting), doesn't rain much (sunny most of the time), and the general attitude is laid back (lot of earthy/hippy types). Also, its a good thing you're already married to a southern girl...cause them earthy chicks can't compare.
Personally, my wife and I moved to upstate NY for a year because of a project about 4yrs ago. It wasn't nearly as neat a place as what you're considering, but it was a great experience. Few things I learned: this southern boy will never move out of the south for long term and cold snowy winters SUCK. Snow is great when you vacation in it because you get to leave...driving in it, working in it, and shoveling it for 4-5 mths gets painfully old. One thing that made it nice for me was that upstate NY has some pretty good duck/goose hunting and fishing.
Either way, make sure you make a big checklist of things important to y'all and give it a lot of thought...it'll keep you from second guessing your decision in the future. Good luck.

Re: Move to Colorado?
This from a man who left home a long time ago to get a better job and so his unborn children would get a better education.
There hasn't been a day that I didn't miss the delta and being around our families. My kids love MS, but they are Georgians and they don't want to go anywhere near MS other than to visit family for a few days, then they are back to their "home." Georgia will never be my home, but it is their home. And, I want to be near my children more than I want to be in my "home." I've now been in GA longer than I lived in MS, but it stills hurts every day not to be back home. I can kill all the deer and turkey (not the ducks) that I could kill in MS, but my heart is not in it.
Just know this, weigh the situation well. Your kids will grow up as Coloradoans, not Mississippians, no matter how much you try to influence them. You will never be able to drop your kids off at the grandparents house so you and the missus can go for a romantic dinner or weekend.
I could never have had the employment opportunities or the great retirement I now enjoy, nor could my kids have gotten the educational opportunities they have enjoyed if I had stayed. But just know, it tears my heart out daily not to be there in the delta with my old friends and my family.
Good luck and I hope you make the best choice for you and your family. Just wanted you to know what the reality is.

Crow has a good point.. I moved to MS at 24, and have been here 14 years.. MS has a bunch of good qualities and though I may die here in MS, TX will be forever home to me.. And to my 4 YO Texas is just where Gran is at... I don't care where you move to it will never be home to you. But CO sure does have some pretty scenery and good hunting as well.

Re: Move to Colorado?
Aight you new i would chime in eventually
i will not give you an answer cause it would be too many repercussions from a friend of mm if you know what i mean
great points made on here but the two most important is the not having the fam around to help yall out and the kids will be raised in a totally different world than yall. i would let mm make the decision being she will be the one taking on most of the burden(new doc, no friends, and not having mom around).
i know this, you ll be so homesick the redneck you are that you'll be back so i ain't worried.
with that being said i ll take care of your obligations here while your away:
1. i will gladly be the adopted brother at jp while you re gone and you can come hunt with me.
2. i got colton taking care of.....i think.
3. i ll babysit the new jap ride for ya.
4. and you always got a camp bullsh***r and bud back home.

Re: Move to Colorado?
My take on it.... you got a wife and a new kid on the way, and a company thats stable enough to consider moving you, apprently friends and family here, and you've actually got a choice in where your life is going. Stay or go, just realize how lucky you are to be in that situation, and be sure to leave room for Him in your life, and either way you'll be fine. Pray with your wife about it, and you'll know the answer. Good luck either way. travis
