Duck ID and question (Pic included)

Postby LawDawg » Tue Jan 26, 2010 7:52 pm

I was out taking some pictures this afternoon and came across this guy. First off, how rare is this disorder? I have seen two headed snakes, people, frogs, and other animals, but never have a seen a two headed duck.

has anyone else ever seen this?

my second question is, if you shot this, would it count as one duck or two?

I thought that maybe he was someone's weird experiment or something. Very strange.

I am going out on a limb, gonna say it is a mallard behind that one. The angle covers it up so it looks like one duck. Or it could be bad voodoo, or incest, take your pick.
Damn, i thought I had that one

Is that buddy of yours tryin to blow that call or make love to it?

I can assure there there is not another mallard behind that one. I thought so too, until it flushed and I wet my pants.

well since my opinion was asked on this im going to say some science experiment gone wrong so to all you scientist out there go pick on some other critter and leave the ducks alon they are hard enough to kill this year without you idiots trying to mutate them into bullet proff robots :D :D

photoshop. if you look closely in the reflection. unless i am mistaken which i think i am not. shouldn't the duck bill that is in the background be on the bottom in the reflection. that is the same image reversed and made to look like a reflection. if it were a true reflection you would see more of the underside of the bill and not the same angle. also look at the white dot where the bill meets the feathers and you can see it is the same bill on both heads. Pretty good but not for someone who has seen it done before and it is very simple to either add or remove the feather on one of the nostrils. Nice try :)

nice try.... the arrows point out the photo shop... the exact same markings on both heads...
