Mud motors are not just for the mud. They are also great in the weeds. You don't have to keep a constant watch to see if it's still peeing and that might just be the best thing about them. If giant salvinia comes to your area you will understand what I'm talking about. But as others have said if the water is fairly clean an outboard will do fine and cost much less.
