buying a house in Oxford
buying a house in Oxford
Anybody got any advice on where to buy a house in Oxford in the 175-225K range...needing suggestions on favorable subdivisions, developments, etc. Looks like I'm gonna take the plunge and get out of the duckforsaken desert that is the Hattiesburg area! Might even get to snatch a perch now and then in the future too! I'm kinda excited about it...been waiting on the last kid to graduate from HS so we could make the move and now it's almost here. Ya'll give me some advice on that area please.

Yocona Ridge - south end of town. All in the 165-200+ range
Northpoint - north end of town 200+ range
There are a bunch of other good neighborhoods around town. Ill think of more.

Congrats! Good move!
Re: buying a house in Oxford
Shouldn't be too hard to find a house in Oxford right now. There have been a lot of builders that
went belly up last year. Banks have a lot of houses for the price range you are looking for.
Most of the new subdivisions in Oxford have some really nice homes in them.

That's what I'd say as well. You may be able to find a brand new $300K house for the range you mentioned if the bank owns it. I know they were selling condos this past year real cheap and even considered one just b/c of the prices.

Depending on your family situation I would recommend the following:
Notting Hill
Windsor Falls
Older House near the square
I know of a few that are priced right. Let me know if you need any help.

This one gets my vote. One of the things I liked most about living there was being able to walk to the square.
