thanks for the reminder punk

I guess he was trying to pick up the diversion. i heard the diversion shot but didnt see it come out.

for those who havent seen or heard about that test, you had the left dts mark, middle mark and a diversion back from your last mark that landed between middle and the left dts mark just out of site in those whooptedoos(many many handles on diverson). the blind was 120yd dts thru old dts fall past all the diversion scent and most of the time the line to the blind was in the shade and dog was hard to see the last 20 yards due to shade and cover.... almost a poke and hope.

Daisee did the same as this dog in the video on the middle mark making the area and having to look around all the clumps to find the bird. she made the area bird landed a few feet more to the left. she looked right then looked left at the bird but chose to go the right clump of dirt. bird landed face down and looked like every other clump and she chose the wrong one and i was kindly axed to put my dog on the bird no semi extended hunts were allowed. I was also the next to last dog to run that afternoon ...very dark to say the least(no excuses just trying to portray "astmospheric and Grand conditons" of a GRAND TEST. I started to let her line the blind and showout as she took a great line but chose to run it as if i was still in contention and playin it safe. i believe she 3 whistled it but it didnt matter WE were out on points.

again thanks GENE!!!!!!!

P.S. i know that some that may watch this video will say that didnt look to difficult. I agreed with that assumption til I stepped up to line, sat on the hey bail and loaded bullets in the gun and did my last second surveying of the test. Totally... totally different test sitting on that hay bale..didnt look it but it was physically demanding test for the dogs. with the changing wind, shade and sun conditions it took ALOT of teams out!!

If I remember right the diversion was on the way back from the blind.....That shot was a dry shot fired to set up the blind....

Did you notice the handler send his dog on the blind and then turn around and put the bird down. By the time he looked up the dog was left...which was where you definitely did not want him. My advice..when you are running the blind be prepared to give 100% focus to your dog...It only takes a second for them to get into trouble...

Handler should'a been waitin on that. NEVER TAKE YOUR EYE OF DA DOG.

yea Chuck you are correct it was thrown on way back from the blind. But seeing that duck in his hand threw me off and made me think he was picking up the diversion.

"It only takes a second for them to get into trouble.." ...especially on that blind. You had to be sucking air the whole time to be ready to blow a whistle from the moment you said ""back" till fido was coming back with the bird. And your left hand was in your pocket except to give an exaggerated left over cast!! Chuck your dogs for the most part killed that blind!

T-BONE SAID...

Which is exactly why production of the CM BOBBLE HEAD DOLL started the week after the GRAND...tribute to the awesome dog/dog work witnessed!

and yes that test was tough especially after waiting for...to me...what seemed like 7 days to run it in the "atmospheric" conditions of darkness. I did however think the test was cool in my own sick twisted way!
