Killed one at 7 near laurel. Had 3 hens with him but gobbled about 30 times on the limb and about 10 times on the ground.

Heard a few, couldn't get on the one that kept cuttin' me off...gotta figure out how to get around all the water. My wife had a pretty good time, she got fired up when my calling got cut off with gobbles, still the walking did her in....

Heard at least 6 different birds this morning. Set up and watched one strut on the limb for 30 mins at about 30 yards and he pitched down on the other side of the creek. That's twice already this year that this bird has outsmarted me. I have a feeling it's gonna be one of those years and he's "that bird." I guess I should have shot him off the roost.

tomorrow's another day.

I gotta admit, if you got within thirty yards of his roost without bumping you did good, and if you are in on him like that much he won't live long....
