Go by the MDWFP office at 1505 Eastover Dr, Jackson and fill out a boat registration form. Be sure you have the Hull identification number for the boat.

You must first give it a Ser# if it does not have one. Many people use their SSN. I don't like doing that in case I want to sell it later. Best to mark it with a stamp with some number easy for you to remember like a birth day or such. Take a picture of it to the MDWF and tell them that it is an old boat and has no ser# and that you stamped one on it, Give them the number you stamped and they will register it. They may ask about what kind of motor you will be using with it so have that data with you.
I did it this way and had no problems.

You will also need a bill of sale. For anyone that doesn't live near Jackson go by your MDWF&P district office or some boat dealers have the boat registration forms.

If the boat doesn't have a hull number or serial number on it you need to get up with your local Conservation Officer to inspect the boat. If there are no numbers on the boat the MDWF&P will issue a MIZ number. This will be the hull number for the boat.
