AT&T or Cell South

I have been with atet for years....but they have zero coverage near Como where I spend alot of time. Cell south users does it work there, are you happy with their service and coverage.I live in Memphis play on weekends around Sardis. Thanks for the input. nic

I drive I-55 a lot and i get good coverage around como with cellular south. I get ok reception behind the levee when AT&T wont work at all. Go with cell south.

For the most part...


I live about 7 miles due South of Willow Break, in the hills of NE Warren County. Cellular South has NO service. I had to swap to ATT so i could have some at my place.

i have both. one is cell south which is my personal phone. the other is at&t which is a company provided phone. i average 5000 miles per month on company business throughout the state. Cell South has by far better coverage. There is no comparison whatsoever. I know I know there are some places that ATT will work that Cell South doesnt but for the larage majority of the state and region I have better service with the Cell South phone. Kind of an odd story was when we were in Colorado elk hunting last October. Both guys with me had ATT phone with them and they never had service. I had service 85% of the time. I guess Cell South has a deal worked out on some towers out there. My best friend has ATT and he drops calls left and right with it when we are talking. Plus Cell South is better in the Delta. Just my 2 pennies.

I echo lipsplitter on this one. I have att on a company BB and Cell south on my personal phone. There is no comparison at least for me in north ms. I can be in rural pontotoc county or behind the levee in Clarksdale and have at least a few bars with CS where as AT&T will be dead. I was with AT&T for years with personal phone but coverage aside cs has great pricing and customer service as well.

Only pet peeve with Cellular South is having to sign in every freaking time you go into the darn store...other then that...Its good

I like CS in Mississippi also, but a big plus for me was that they use Verizon's towers outside the south and Verizon seems to have far better coverage in the mid-west and west than at&t.

that explains why i had good service out west. the verizon towers i guess. my wife is in estes park colorado this week on business. my mother in law went with her just to tag along. my wife has cell south and has had good service. mom in law has att and has had some issues. hope this helps.

Mine works very good all over the settled parts of alaska. The verizon towers must be why

No contest, Cellular South. AT&T coverage is awful once you leave an interstate Hwy. Also, Cellular South's calling plans are much better and about 40% cheaper than AT&T's. Also CS uses the Verizon towers when traveling outside of the CS calling area. My phone works in NYC, the west coast and Puerto Rico. The only negative with CS is their weak variety of cell phones to choose from.

I currently have phones with both companies and go all over the delta. As for customer service, my opinion is AT&T is much better to deal with and has MUCH better phones to choose from. The only benefit i've had with CS is over the levee. It works all along the river whereas AT&T won't. Although, when they get 3G towers around Cleveland and Clarksdale that may all change. They recently put 3G in Greenville and I have 20x better coverage now......I can be in a lead walled room in the hospital and have full bars now. Why everyone thinks Cellsouth is cheaper is beyond me........i pay basically the same exact thing for both phones with the same add ons. I will tell you this........if you work for the state, or in the healthcare field.....AT&T will give you a 25% discount on your plan price. All you have to do is prove your employment with an ID or paystub and they'll put a code in there that'll start showing the discount on your bill.

I think we go through this about once a year and it always turns out that Cell South gets the most votes.

I had been with AT&T for 10-12 years, but the prices got higher and the service got worse, so I switched to CellSouth last month. No worries now. Internet, etc. now for less than what I was paying AT&T for just calls/texts. And no dropped calls.
