Shootin coots helps pass the time over in AL when no ducks are flying and I can't make a trip over to MS or AR. But I agree on the cormorants.........a good # of people think they are geese.....actually quite funny... :D

OK- I will bring my new coot, meratroid, and shovel snoot decoys i just ordered. I had my eye on a robo coot...............should i go ahead and buy it since it does match my underoos! :D :D
I'm on top of it Bill. I have one of the lawn ornaments pictured below. I painted the body black, the feet green, and I set the pole at the right depth to make the feet slap the water when the wind blows. Voila!!!! Mojo Coot. That sucker looks just like it's running on top of the water. All we need is blgros1 to bring some of those cajun spices to cook them up with. Deltedukman will be along for negotiations with the natives when they pull up in the middle of our spread 5 minutes before shooting light. He has a diplomatic way about him that can only be matched by that of Archie Bunker. I can't wait. This will be the best opener EVER!!

Talked with a friend who was at the Flyway Council meeting last night and he said the same thing, the two pintail limit this season was confirmed at the meeting. He also discussed wood duck limits with some of the biologists who all agreed the population could probably support a six duck limit. The problem is they have no way of accurately surveying wood duck numbers so we will most likely have conservative bags on woodies for a while.

If they'd have a one-day cormorant hunt at Guntersville, we'd invite the whole state of MS over. Those nasty feces machines kill every tree they roost in. We have sandbars where there once were islands. The birds kill the trees, the trees decay, the islands erode.

And have you ever researched how much fish one cormorant eats in a year???
Never assume.

The price of duck loads will double between now and November

Massive recalls of decoys with multiple 'paint' issues

Somebody will market a dual gun mount for shotguns.......and range finder on one side and a gun-cam on the other.

Flyway Highway returns to prime-time

Another Pro-staffer claims his blind bag gives him an advantage over other hunters

All decoys with hyphenated descriptions of what they appear to be 'doing' (i.e. 'semi-resting', 'quasi-gagging', whatever, etc.) will double in price because of the extra print space required for marketing publicity.

'Greeter'/'preeners' will be declared deterants to landing waterfowl.......and companies will continue to package 4 to a six-pack.

I'm in on that, everyone of the bass eating, island destroying poop machines need to DIE!!! If we are bringing Mississippi boys over then I would love to see the guy that works for the fish farms near Tunica get turned loose on Guntersville. He seriously hates them things and when he shoots they die.

What's the thought process behind that idea?

Was thinking the same? Prevent them from getting to oil by killing them? or just pressure?
