My first, last, and only comment on this would be: Whomever puts those ducks in a crate and starts moving them around better be darn sure they have a recent bill of sale from a preserve, and those ducks have a clipped toe, hole in the webbing or other approved marking to show they are pen raised. See, e.g. the Code of Federal Regulations. Ask any retriever club that is putting on a trial how much fun it is to have a CO show up and the right paperwork not handy.

...talked to a man today who supposedly knows what he is talking about. he is not federal or state so he certainly is not official. he said that according to a Mexican/American treaty (i am going to find the name of it and post it soon) all mallard ducks are migratory and therefore no mallard duck can be deemed tame.

Priceless. Absolutely priceless.

This is going to be AWESOME to read about in the paper after opening weekend rolls around.

I was hopping this thing would die, but since it won't I have one more question to ask. Do the poor souls that leased this place know they leased a tammie shoot? I'd lose my chit if I showed up opening weekend and found out I'd help finance this little experiment.

This is my favorite part. I have never in my life seen a tame mallard.

They aren't migratory if they have a clipped toe. As I understand, if you have tame ducks present while hunting (if it isn't a designated shooting preserve), you are in violation. But what do I know, I'm not a person who "supposidly knows" these things.

Maybe we need to start a forum topic "places not to lease...........and various reasons why" If this crap keeps on i bet someone could post a map with directions to said locations so that everyone could witness this rodeo.
If i was leasing a place i would want to know if there was even the slightest chance that i was going to get busted on opening day.........through no fault of my own!!!!

Didn't the Duck Commander try something like this? And he was found to be in violation and the USFWS removed the problem by killing all of his ducks...

apparently, many of you have either forgotten what u read or never took the time to read previous post. a local game warden, a federal agent and a employee of delta wildlife are all working with him to make certain that no laws are broken and everything is perfectly legal. the lessees of the holes are given the option upfront of having some of these ducks or not. only two have not responded. the others are 100 % on board.

How in the hell do you count 3K a duck each day. There is no possible way you can tell if you have 2900 or 3021. Or is there? I hope I get to shoot one of those clipped toe birds. It may be the only mallard hen I would mount.

How do they do refuge counts?

Example Elk Horn refuge has 76,265 ducks.....Mallard 42,000 Gadwall 15,000 etc. etc.
