That is a Wild Pear tree. I got one in my yard. Looks a lot like a Bradford. The fruit is bitter as *$@#.
Its going to develop thorns after a couple of years on the limbs. Prune it over head high, otherwise if you run into it while mowing around it those 3 inch thorns will get ya. Know by experience!

I really cant take the credit, I was puzzled too, so I talked to some pro's at the Ms Forestry Commission.
Its actually a good looking tree to be a wild one.

what you mean whats up in amory? Im in amory, aint nothing speacial bought this place. I work overseas and my wife is from here so I moved her close to her parents. few ducks and lots of geese and planty of fishing holes. Nice place.

bradford pear does produce fruit, but it's only about the size of a pencil eraser.

doesn't have the same leaf or shape as a bradford pear and also a bradford pear doesn't produce anything but flowers.

Initially I'm thinking a cherry tree, but I don't know. The fruit as I'll call it was tough to cut with some food scissors and doesn't seem to have a seed in the middle.

It's not "wild" like in the woods, but it's in a yard a couple houses down from me. I'll stop and see if there are thorns. Id say the tree is around 20-30 feet tall.

it's either a wild pear tree or a bradford, if it's a bradford the fruit will be about fingernail size/dime size, maybe a little smaller. if it's a wild pear tree then the fruit should be about the size of a quarter to a golf ball.

we have a yard full of bradford and that leaf looks really similar. also have a wild pear tree in one of my food plots. it's about 30 foot tall, deer eat the chit out of the pears. i watched to yearling's one fall, taking turns standing on each other back with front legs acting like goats eating these.

I stopped and looked at it this weekend. 100% there are no thorns on it. I think it's to big for a Bradford Pear and could possibly be a Wild Pear as mentioned. The fruit is about the size of a quarter for sure.
