I've got a pond full of sprangletop and it doesn't look like that.

I'll take better pictures this weekend. I will be out there working this weekend. Could it be a weird flavor of sprangletop?

I really appreciate and I feel better about not being able to ID it.

Stay tuned, more pics this weekend.

Bad form! How dare you enlist the services of a professional botanist and interfere with the work of board certified duck south know-it-alls!

Exactly, would you believe someone that does work all over the world, or those of us who specialize in the Duck South area?

How can we trust this source?

Never heard of it, but I guess I'll believe it. Redtop panicgrass.

I thought the Deer forum was the only place you could call a man out by name and drag him into stuff like that! :D
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

Looks like we are diving into the same pool. Dr. Bryson does mucho work with the guy I asked too. You may know Victor Maddox as well. And Victor is not foreign, he just does some research in other parts of the world other than the Southeast  . Either way, you know for sure what the plant is when you ask one of those 2 guys.

I don't care where the information comes from I just wanted to know. Its not that I can do anything about it this year, but if it was no good for ducks I could do something about it next year. It seems as though I might be OK with it.

Once again, I appreciate all the help.

Thanks,

Pond

Rob,

No matter what kind of grass it is, barring bermuda or something like that, it's hard to go wrong for ducks.

The wild millets, panic grasses, signalgrass, sprangletop, foxtail, crabgrass, etc. are all good for ducks.
