Ol man seat in a summit

Postby Gant » Sat Oct 09, 2010 8:30 am

Has anybody ever changed out the seat on a summit with an ol man net. I really dont like the summit seat. If you changed it out, how did you do it and what size net do you need for a summit open shot stand. Thanks for any help.

I know this might not help a whole lot..........but I changed my seat in an API (which I think is really similar to a Summit) and replaced it with a Treewalker seat. That seat is very similar to an old man seat, but WAY more comfortable. I just called up treewalker and ordered a replacement seat and then kinda tied it on with some parachute cord on each side of the stand where the seat is supposed to go. It looks kinda funny, but is the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in.

Probably just measure your stand width and the look on the treewalker website and compare sizes and just order the replacement seat for the stand it matches to the closest. I just ordered the biggest one they had.

Do you have one of those treewalker stands? I've never seen them, looks like a good climber.

My boss and several of his friends have them and they are really cool......but expensive. I will definitely be buying one when I get ready to buy another climbing stand. They all swear by them as the best stand ever made.
