Re: Is Cam Clean?
From a LSU message board. Pretty funny, regardless if rumors are true or not.

Re: Is Cam Clean?
This is the sole reason I think that Auburn University is about to eat a turd sandwich...in my memory, things like this pop up, flame and the die down rather quickly. The two exceptions to this general priciple were the Means case at Bama and the USC/Bush scandal. In those cases, however, the length of the investigation forced there to be a lull, although the allegations remained pretty steady throughout.
In the present case, the story started to float two weeks ago on message boards, ignited last Thursday and have snowballed since then with more and more circumstantial evidence coming forth and now the involvement of the FBI...meaning subpoena power and meaning the Justice Department doesn't get involved unless there is more likely than not something there.
I think we are on the brink of something almost unprecedented. I could see Auburn's entire football staff fired, the AD and assistant AD fired, and if Mike Slive drug his feet, which appears may be the case, the SEC commish losing his job. I could see this on top of monumental NCAA sanctions against AU. Word on the street is that this is not simply limited to Cam...he is the only one being discussed in great detail. Word is that AU paid Dyer, Trovon Reed and tried to pay Lache Seastrunk and Lattimore as well as one other recruit they landed from Arkansas. I don't think we see the death penalty, but we could see 4 year bowl ban and 40 schollies taken over 4 years. I predict this is going to get really ugly on a lot of levels.

What if....and believe me, this is a big "IF"....Slive drug his feet and get the boot....in the long term, will the Bulldogs, possibly not have to listen to the "ban the cowbell" witch hunt that Slive has been after for years

Re: Is Cam Clean?
So was this how a coach with a losing record landed a job at AU and subsequently landed the top recruiting class inn such short order? Hmmmm.....just asking. Pass the popcorn please...

I have done a little look around on some auburn message boards and now granted this is coming from auburn message boards but they say that MSU is being investigated by the NCAA.
I am just glad nobody is pointing fingers at Ole Miss.
Oh, and I will take that bucket of popcorn too.....

Two sources, one from from one US Attorney’s Office, the other from a different US Attorney’s office, speaking anonymously and independently from one another, have confirmed that the FBI has indeed requested a meeting with John Bond, the former Mississippi State quarterback who claimed that men connected to Auburn quarterback Cam Newton told him that it would take “cash to get Cam” to commit to MSU.
The FBI has also contacted others involved in the scandal, including members of the Mississippi State Athletic Department and representatives from Blinn College in Brenham, TX. The FBI has also requested documents from the City of Newnan, GA and is expected to seek a meeting with Kenny Rogers and “others” in connection with their investigation.
Both sources have requested anonymity since they do not have authorization to speak publicly about the matter, but both either have information about or are involved in the investigation.
As reported in TMZ late yesterday, The FBI is interested in determining whether “young men are being shopped to colleges.” More specifically, according to one US Attorney’s Office source, the FBI is also investigating potential violations of 18 U.S.C. § 1589, which contains provisions targeting “involuntary servitude” and/or “forced labor,” in addition to potential violations of individual civil rights

Well Kenny Rogers just admitted on espn radio that Cecil said for him to ask for $180K to get Cam to sign with a school.

Re: Is Cam Clean?
So now Rogers is credible? I guess he was lying before when he denied it. The list of shady MSU "recruiters" and "boosters" involved in this story just keeps growing by the day. It all boils down to the fact that State folks are mad because they got outbid.

Re: Is Cam Clean?
It all boils down to that he wanted to come to State but daddy said no.........and the "reason" behind daddy saying no.

Re: Is Cam Clean?
Question about John Bond. Is Mr. Bond employed by the MSU athletics department or MSU in any capacity? If so, what is his job title and duties?
