Re: Is Cam Clean?
"Po Monk, it may mention in the aforementioned TD thread, not sure, but there is speculation that the reason State, the SEC and NCAA drug their feet is a correlation with FBI wiretaps that had incidentally picked up conversation above collecting money to pay Cam and other players. The FBI wanted to keep it on the down-low so as not to burn their cover and alert the people they were investigating. "
Delta, not sure that I am buying that explanation. The SEC contends that it requested more info from MSU after MSU's Jan report, and that MSU did not respond until July, despite the SEC office pushing for a response. And even in July, the SEC contends that there was no info provided by MSU regarding the now alleged taped conferences with the Newtons. However, the rumor posted by Bankermane, if true, could be the explanation. IF the persons who the Newtons were talking to when they admitted the pay for play scheme at Auburn were in fact Coach Mullen and his wife, then it would be understandable that Coach Mullen would not want his wife having to get involved in this sordid matter, if at all possible. So, that, along with the Mullens' past close relationship with Cam, would explain why they would hold back information from the SEC office. As I said, it appears that for some reason, MSU reported to the SEC only the minimum amount of information that it thought it could get away with and still cover its booty. And this may very well have been the reason.
While the FBI angle may be a part of this Newton story, I don't think such was known, nor was it affecting the reporting/investigation actions of the SEC or MSU until perhaps very recently, and indirectly at that. It was only very recently that MSU came forward with the allegations about the incriminating conferences with the Newtons that are allegedly on tape.
I think MSU is going to have a problem stemming from Kenny Rogers. And if what Bankermane has posted is true about the Mullens, then whether this situation in the delayed reporting of the evidence of improprieties by the Newtons turns into something bad for MSU will depend entirely upon what exactly was reported to the SEC office in January, and then later in July. MSU will try to say that it was just following the SEC protocol set forth by Slive and reported sufficient info for the SEC to take any action it determined was needed (there have already been public statements from MSU to this effect). The SEC is going to say that what MSU reported was inadequate for action on its part, and that MSU did not fully report what it knew about the Newton matter, even after the requests for more information and MSU's delayed response in July (there have already been public statements from the SEC office to this effect). And whether any of this after-the-fact finger pointing between the SEC office and MSU is going to matter to the NCAA as an excuse for each knowing something about all of this and neither taking timely action in reporting any of this to the NCAA, is a big question. There appears to be a whole lot of "splain'in" to be done.
Auburn, it appears, is up the proverbial creek without a paddle. Under any scenario playing out, it appears that Cecil had his hand out and Cam is thus ineligible per NCAA rules. Thus, the wins and any awards from this season will most likely have to be forfeited. If any evidence of pay for play emerges, through the NCAA investigation and/or FBI investigation, then Auburn is toast. A lot of smoke out there. It ain't looking good.

I need a favor from you guys that are reporting all this crap.
Touch base with your "un-named sources", "tweeters" & "BOL rock solid posters (AKA W&L)" & let a nikka know when all this bad chit is gonna hit the fan for Cam, Auburn & MSU. Seems like you guys are in know & I'd just like to know when it's all gonna go down. Will it be the day before the iron bowl, the SEC CSG or the MNC? Honestly this thing has gotten so out of hand, I don't know who to believe anymore, but I trust you guys so have decided that yall will be my only source of info regarding this goat rodeo.
Thanks

The Tuscaloosa News is reporting that the NCAA has interviewed Jody Wright. Not good for State. Jody Wright hates Dan Mullen and Mississippi State and takes every opportunity he can to run them down.

I imagine it will be after the season is over like USC, they will wait a couple years then take it all away from Auburn. Just my opinion.eSJay wrote:I need a favor from you guys that are reporting all this crap.

Maybe we should start a "pool" to see WHEN it happensquack_a_tack wrote: I imagine it will be after the season is over like USC, they will wait a couple years then take it all away from Auburn. Just my opinion.

Now my questions are these: ???
How will AU's and the SEC member teams's Bowl money be affected when AU is put on probation ?
Do they have to return the money ?
Assuming that the NCAA does not act before the Bowl games, does Auburn still get to keep their share of the BCS money ?
Even if Bama beats Auburn (and I think that they will), I think that AU can still win the SEC and go to a BCS bowl (even if not for the National Championship).
Since the BCS is kinda handcuffed by the "non-human" way that their Ranking system works, how can they keep Auburn out of the championship game if they have one of the top 2 rankings ?
Does the BCS really want to have the possible winner declared VOID, 6 months after the game ?
Maybe this forces the NCAA to act more quickly than the Bowl invitation date ?
And my LAST question mark....
After 40 years of being one of the Most penalized Colleges by the NCAA, WHY.... WHY.... WHY does Auburn just keep on cheating ?
God Bless you
Make time to PRAY ! God has given us so much. Thank him.

You won't see it for quite a while as more than likely, one thing leads to another and it would be my guess that the NCAA and FBI will uncover lots and lots and lots of improprieties along the way, one being related to Cam Newton, the others....well, that's where it will get interesting...
Way too much smoke at this point for no fire. Detailed specifics will not be unveiled anytime soon as it would jeopardize the entire investigation.

ill go on the record and say this........ as a loyal bama fan...... i would rather cam play, and beat the brakes off us than him not play and us win....... bottom line. now perfect world, he plays, we win. shut all doors. but, that being said, who knows. jus wanted to go head and throw that out there.
If it wasn't for bad luck then i would have no luck at all........

Got a minute or 60? A poster on Tigerdroppings.com has summarized all the information regarding CamGate. He has titled it "As the Plains Burn".
Link if you have time. Very interesting information.

Re: Is Cam Clean?
Camgate is going to get ugly (real ugly) before it is over. I dont think the FBI would be invloved unless some evidence has emerged and I believe the truth will start coming out now with them involved. How about we predict the outcome of this scandel before the penalties shake out.
1. I think Ms State is found to have offered Cam money and will receive 3 years probation with a loss of 10 scholarships a year and no bowls. Also if it is found that any of the coaches or Mullen was invloved it could be alot worse. I also feel if Mullen is not involved, he leaves after the season to get as far away from this as possible.
2. I think Auburn is caught and punished severly. I said last year that something was funny with the way Auburn was able to sign alot of the top recruits and I guess now we are starting to see how. Auburn gets 5 years probation with a loss of 12 scholarships a year and no bowls for 3 years.
Also guys I think we are seeing something that could change college football for years to come. The NCAA could really set an example out of this, as I cant remember a school ever being caught giving out this type of cash.

Re: Is Cam Clean?
I am beginning to have doubts about all of this for the first time since it started. Paul Finbaum tweeted this morning that someone is reporting that Cam Newton will be cleared this week. Things may be about to fall apart for all of those rooting for AUs demise.
