Best hunt I ever had was in a flooded rice field in the rain. You got a week to scout. Find you some buck brush or other halfway open water to hunt.

Just be glade that you have the option to decide whether or not to hunt in the rain. Think of all those men and women in the armed forces that are fighting for you just to complain if it's raining on opening morning of duck season. They got to think about not getting hit by raining bullets. Its called a rain suite works wonders to prevent being wet. Im sick and tired of people getting on this forum and complaining about the stupiest crap ever. Oh its raining or oh man they changed time for draw hunts. Who cares just count your blessing that number one we leave in a country were we can hunt and number 2 the good Lord gave us the ability to hunt. If I hurt anyones feelings I don't care. This is how I feel. And Im not about to start a bunch of nagging back forth on the internet with you if I did. The rest of us are going to hunt no matter what the conditions are.

If the long range forcast holds up, and most of the time it doesn't, it will be a wet opener with a good shot of cold on Saturday. If the cold front is going to hit Friday night like they say, it'll be a good time to be in the field on Friday. The only difference the rain makes to me is pulling the hood up on my jacket or not. I'm like some of the others, some of my best hunts have been in the rain.

Quit being a pansy, put on your big boy pants and a rain coat, and go hunting. If the boat ride is what bothers you, go get some snow skiing googles.

$500 coats that are gortex, wind proof, flare proof yada yada, waders that keep you dry, hats that repel rain and lightning bolts, and you are asking us what we would do if it’s raining on opening morning. I know what I am gonna do. I am going to wake up with a morning Woodrow, grab my gear, and get the wet ass killing ducks or taking the scald / snide / red ass whatever you want to call it. Are we gonna go duck hunting if it’s raining? You effin right I am.

If you are gonna be a duck hunter I wouldn’t be scared of a lil water bub.

me and a buddy limited out in a flooded field while we watched a tornado go over our heads. Luckily, it never touched down, but the ducks did. :D Neither rain, snow, sleet, hail or tornado will keep me out of the duck hole come opening weekend.

I am with you grant, rather go shopping with my wife and her mother, than go duck hunting if there's a chance of rain.
