d@mn! I clicked on this post hoping to find a hot place!
Surely the longer a man duck hunts the wealthier he becomes in experience,in reminiscence,in love of nature,if he goes out with the harvest of a quiet eye, free from the plague of himself

Here's what I don't understand. You say the reason for giving out public spots on the forum is to help the guys asking for assistance on places to hunt. I understand that completly. If you're willing to help a guy out that doesn't scout for himself, that's great. Some people may not agree with giving out hunting spots but whatever. Here's the deal... why do it where everyone can see it? Why not send the guy a pm? I don't understand how you can say that you're being a "nice, helpful sportsman" by helping one guy out, but you're pissing a bunch of other hunters off at the same time by posting information for everyone to see. Why are you nice enough to help one guy, buy don't give a $#!+ about what the other guy thinks?

Mo has it made with their public land, it blows Ms public land out of the water!

It is quite obvious that you have no freaking idea what you are talking about!!!

If this post wasnt so obsene to begin with I would be laughing at that statement, It just goes to show how out of touch from reality some people can be.

here is little statisticical data to show my point.

Otter Slough CA Hunt Date/ Total Applicants /Total Drawn/ Success Rate

Looks great man you get a 2.87 % chance to go hunt -- WTH??

And here is a quote from a MO hunter

"And along with a slim and none chance of getting a Quick Draw, I went there this morning. In addition to the Quick Draw parties, 51 parties stood in the poorline for the positions that were left. I stuck my hand in a box with over 200 pills in it trying to get one of the 10 or so that would earn a decent hunt. Needless to say me and the other three in our party ended up going to a backup spot to hunt"

and another

"QD IS AWESOME Im o for 25"

one more you ask? sure.

"I have put in for everyday in the middle zone and 3 days in northern zone and still not drawn.51 parties in poorline yesterday at os.over 150pills ha,ha,ha,I drew 184,our lowest pill was 174."
I suspect those numbers represent the number of people who applied online for the quick draw. I call the Otter Slough info number everyday around 3-5pm. They are currently holding 43k ducks. Several days this year they have had open spots to hunt. I know monday and tue of last week they had 28 parties draw for 31 spots. They have been averaging 3.5-3.8 ducks per hunter. That means some easy limits have been killed out there. Hell I drove by on Tuesday and if there was one duck then there was 25K. They don't even begin to count the thousand that raft up on adjacent properties.

That place is so well designed and worked up that a draw is the only way to make it work. Not every public spot should be a draw but it really helps keep this one on the top tier.
No, i don't want to know you ---- teul

if someone puts their time and sweat into finding a spot and they want to give it to some internet ooser then WTF does it matter who they give it to on a public forum? it was their time that went into it and not yours, if they want to make that call then who are you to criticize them?

You didn't answer the question Delta. Why not send a pm? If you want to help somebody out that's fine. But you know it's going to piss other hunters off if you post it openly, so why do it?

Here's the question... Why not send the guy needing help a pm?

Landman, did you know that it would pisse people off not to send a PM? I don't see what it matters? it's his spot and if he decides to publicly announce it then it's his business.
