To say that turned out great is an understatement. That thing looks awesome.

Funky without a doubt. Head looks kinda like a gadwall in a way in the first pics but then when it's mount I have no clue. Cool duck none the less...

Don't you know the hen woody was really hating life when that big ole green head climbed on board.
Or that wood duck drake was thinking he finally had landed that big girl he always wanted.

I would have to say it's a hen Mallard x Wood Duck. It's got a woodie shaped bill and rump/tail, and has big mallard-looking wings. Neat for sure, and a helluva conversation piece.

That did turn out nice.. Still don't have a clue to what it is though.

The speculum looks very much like a wood duck.

I can see both Wood Duck and Mallard there. All too often hybrid hens are cleaned or not saved as they are rather drab but still unique and different. Looking at the keys on it you can see the white trailing edge of the speculum common to both Mallard and Wood Duck. The elongated tail is pretty much a dead on give-away as much as anything. The dark crown on the head indicates Wood Duck as does the subtle irridescence in the earlier pictures and the bill shows the charasteristics of a Wood Duck also.
Here's a drake Wood Duck/Mallard to show the comparative anatomy. Notice the tail and speculum.
