if they'd open it in february and run it through july, i'd be cool with it.

remind me to tell you about my face to face (almost literally) encounter with the peacock that's taken up with a bunch of turkeys and gone wild.............i saw it today, actually heard it first and it scared the hell out of me.......then this lil mohawked dude walks out and feeds w/ some hens and jakes.

you ever heard the fowl noise a peacock can make???? brother, when you ain't expectin' a peacock to be in your area, it'll get to you. that thing started "awwwwwwwww'in" and i almost dropped my gun.....peaked up the hollow and here he comes, bailing out of some hedges with a bunch of hens.

i told my dad i saw the thing this morning.............he got a crazed look in his eye. he wants him DEAD, i mean D.E.A.D - DEAD. the peacock messed his deer hunting up this year with all that yammering. you ever seen a 60 year old man angry at a peacock??? well, let me tell you, it's something to see.

Gator could walk into a sorority house, women's gym, or convent and still have a face to face encounter with a peecock.

prolly get blasted for this, but i love the opening before the majority of the birds are "hot"

gives me great opportunities to practice my woodsmanship and try and outsmart the turkeys not with a call but at there on game. yeah it's definitely more challenging because it takes more patience and can be very time consuming but, i think it makes us all better hunters when we exercise our abilities to adapt to the given situations. i'm with gator, lets go feb-july

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.
